  1. Ronald Winky Wright

or maybe I just like saying  "Winky"

  2. I think the entire sport of Boxing is getting the shaft.

  3. As crazy as this sounds, at this site at least I think one of them is Floyd Mayweather.

My biggest knock against Floyd isn't what he has done, it's what he didn't do, and even I know that isn't fair, but hey, it's how I feel.  A champion should fight the best in his weight class, and at welterweight Floyd didn't do it, so until Mayweather takes on Cotto, Margarito, Williams, Quintana and most of all Clottey, I will not acknowledge Floyd's titles from 147 and above.  At 140 and below Floyd Mayweather Jr. was the best P4P boxer in the game and a true champion.  From 147 up, Floyd has been mediocre at best.

Pavlik hasn't gotten enough credit for his past several fights, Kelly has taken a huge step up in competition, and simply because of his quite reserved demeanor, gets far less credit than he deserves.  Calzaghe's elephant is named Frankie Warran, and no one can take Joe's record away, but he will be slow to be accepted, he needs a couple more big fights in America for me to believe in him, he was too protected most of his career.  I still respect Hatton's accomplishments more than Calzaghe's.

Another one is Wladimir Klitschko.  I give him credit for collecting two worthless belts, and for coming off the canvass three times to still outpoint Sam Peter's in a very questionable decision, but have a hard time respecting him as champion.  He fights like he is afraid to get hit, I guess Puritty,Brewster and Sanders did to Wladimir what Travers left hook did to Jones and shook his confidence.  It's understandable, but still makes for pitiful boxing matches with little public appeal and no entertainment value.

There is a circus full of elephant's in the boxing world, I just named a few.  Corruption, preoccupation with money, disrespectful public display and a general overall drop in talet level all qualify as more for a whole herd of elephant's but  when it comes to boxer's who don't get the credit they deserve, the king of the all is Winky Wright.

Wink beat Vargas, Hopkins and Taylor, but the judges didn't see it the way I did on any of them.  Not since Pernell Whitaker clearly outclassed Chavez and DeLa Hoya only to get completely robbed by the scorekeepers has boxing had a fighter get ripped off as many times as Winky Wright did.  Granted the fights were a lot closer than the Whitaker debacles, but stll Wink is the Rodney Dangerfield of boxing.  He gets no respect on the cards after fighting his heart out.  Thumbs up to amdm92, I agree.

    Winky Wright is your man.
