  1. The 92 Dream team... there's no need for arguments. It's a hands down winner.

  2. dream team, much better front court than the redeem team.  the backcourt is good on both teams.

  3. Technically the Redeem team was the Dream team until the Dream team lost which made them the Redeem team. So technically they have the same level of talent.

  4. are you seriously asking this question?

dream team no doubt about it. they have more rings and more experienced players

  5. i think that the dream team would be better.that is because the redeem team lacks a lot of big guys while the dream team had a good number of big guys. also the dream team had a better defense while the redeem team focuses on offense mostly

  6. Yahoo Sports had a great article on this a few days ago...

In my opinion the Dream Team is stronger, even with Bird and Magic past their primes.

Kobe and LeBron are the greatest players today, but Jordan and Barkley in their primes?!?!  You're talking about the greatest overall player (not to mention shooting guard, sorry Kobe) and greatest power forward ever to play the game!! Those two alone might drop 40 and 35. Look at the Chicago/Phoenix championship series for a reminder...

Dwight Howard and Carlos Boozer vs Ewing, Bird and Malone?

Who's gonna stop the Admiral David Robinson?

Tayshaun Prince?  Excellent player, but essentially a poor man's Scottie Pippen.  I'll take the genuine article, thank you!  Tayshaun is a better half-court offensive player, but defensively Pippen has him beat.

Plus there's the added benefit of having teammates who've played together for years on the court together- Stockton & Malone for the pick & roll, Jordan & Pippen on the break.

Oh, did somebody leave Bird and Mullin alone at the 3-point line?  :)

Oh, finally found that article, here it is:

  7. it depends... if the dream team played the redeem team right now it may be a close game but i have to give it to the dream team. however if all the guys on the dream team were put in their prime then it would not even be close, the dream team would win. but if the redeem team was in their prime and the dream team wasn't i give it to the redeem team. both in their prime it would be close. but probably would be the redeem team.

  8. i would say it would be close before i saw the argentina game, but now they are not close at all.  Redeem team beat argentina by only 21 points without their best scorer and the MJ of Europe out for most of the game..Manu Ginoboli.   Thru 3 1/2 quarters lead even went down to single digits.  Domination is the name of the game and Redeem team got a little flustered when argentina actually pushed back.

  9. Many consider it the greatest team ever assembled, in any sport. Yet even that description fails to give it proper credit for its impact.

Magic Johnson was as enthusiastic as the Dream Team's victories were emphatic

The original Dream Team, the U.S. basketball team that won the gold medal at the 1992 Olympics in Barcelona, was a phenomenon on and off the court. It mattered not that it dominated the Olympic competition, beating its eight opponents by an average of 44 points. What was important was that the Dream Team, the first U.S. Olympic team to include NBA stars, gave fans a glimpse of basketball at its finest, and an entire world responded.

  10. Ewing, Robinson, Malone, and Barkley would beat Redeem Team's post players to a pulp.

The only player on the Redeem Team who wouldn't wilt under Jordan's competitive fire would be Kobe. LeBron is physical, but he's still not a particulary good shooter and he can be taken out of the game.

    Pippen easily shuts down Carmelo.

Then of course you have Bird, Mullin, Jordan, and Stockton on the perimeter bombing from long range.

The truth is that Dream Team wins 8/10 because most of its players were DOMINANT COMPETITORS. Barkely, Jordan, Magic, Bird, and Ewing were DOMINANT. They were intimidating. Players like Bosh, Paul, Boozer, Wade, and Howard are great athletes, but they aren't DOMINANT. There is no way Boozer or Howad could intimidate a Barkley or a Ewing.

The only player on Redeem Team that has that dominance and competitive, cut-throat nature is Kobe. But that's only one man, and of course, he couldn't do too much with Jordan on him (with Pip lurking in the wings).

In the two games Redeem does win, it would be because of an amazing three-point shooting effort that night.

  11. I don't think the current team can match a team with Bird, Magic and Jordan, so I'd give it to the 92 team.

But it is hard to really tell on the court because the foreign talent level has risen so much.

  12. It's actually difficult to say.  Nobody is ever going to top the Dream Team's records, but I could say that is because back in the 90s, basketball wasn't as popular as it is today.  Today, there are many more players, all very talented, from all sorts of countries.  The Redeem Team is filled with extreme talent, and I actually say they could be better.  Not that they could beat the Dream Team's records, but talent wise.  Michael Jordan, Karl Malone, Larry Bird - All extraordinary players.  But also, today you have Kobe, LeBron, Chris Paul, Jason Kidd, etc.  All of the above players are great.  I think both the Dream Team and the Redeem Team are amazing.  I don't think you can say one is better than the other.

  13. the dream team is better. they had michael jordan, magic johnson, and charles barkley and nobody on the redeem team are better than any of them. i am not saying that the redeem team is bad its just that they are the second best with lebron, wade, and kobe
