I'm assuming that you only get protection when you're browsing the web when you're actually using a particular browser. I'd like to know which you think offers better security against phisizing, malware, trojans, and viruses. Thanks.

  1. honestly it is Firefox

  2. firefox nothing more to say

  3. The Fox is dah fyah!!!

    **oh yea I forgot**  It's even safer with a plug-in called No-Script.

Plus you can block all those annoying adds by right clicking on them.

  4. Neither.  Browsers have very limited ability to protect you from port 80 and port 443 attacks (e.g. through HTML commands).  But, users are still the most critical element of security whom get the greatest assistance from a hardware firewall (e.g. your router), a software firewall (e.g. Windows, Zonealarm, McAfee Firewall, etc), and Virus protection software (e.g. McAfee, Norten, etc).  Still, even these have a difficult time protecting you from attacks through Instant Messaging software and emails.  Most Virus Protection software has links for these, but most people do not know how to activitate them - or the knowledge that they need to proactively switch it on.

  5. Firefox.....

Most if not all attacks are directed against idiots using IE, because thats whats on the computer when you get it...

  6. Firefox 3 is the way to go no question. They both have security flaws (EVERY browser does.) With so many add-ons and things it is impossible to close every single hole. IE definitely has a history of way more issues. (Part of this is just because of its huge marketshare, but a lot of it has to do with shoddy coding.)

Firefox browses faster, is very user friendly once you have adjusted to it, and is all around safer, more secure, and just plain better. It can't be beat. GO FOX

As a side note...Yahoo toolbar is bloatware and a security threat in itself. There have been a decent number of issues with people hacking it. I recommend no toolbar at all as they are really unnecessary (browsers have things like popup blockers built in nowadays.) If you decide you DO want a toolbar, I would use the Google toolbar instead. Google plain does things right. They are an amazing company.

  7. Firefox 3 - hands-down.
