  1. George bush 1 was the incumbent in 192 and I think Dole was the opponent in 1996. aaaah, only to have the good years again with a democratic President.

  2. George Bush (the father) then Bob Dole.  Gore was the Dem in 2000 and Kerry in 2004.

  3. ummmmmmmm  !!!

  4. Bill Clinton ran against and defeated the incumbent President George HW Bush, in 1992, in a three way race which pitted the Republican President Bush, Democratic Arkansas Governor Bill Clinton, and wealthy businessman independent candidate Ross Perot.

In 1996, incumbent President Clinton defeated the Republican nominee, Senator Bob Dole of Kansas, again in a three way race which included Mr. Perot.

In 2000, the Republicans nominated Texas Governor George W. Bush while Democrats nominated incumbent Vice President Al Gore of Tennessee. Bush eventually prevailed in a controversial race in which he lost the national popular vote narrowly but won by a narrow margin in Florida, giving him Florida's decisive 27 electoral votes and the Presidency. The presence of Green Party candidate Ralph Nader in the race was believed by many to have siphoned off votes in key states that would have otherwise gone for Mr. Gore in a two way race against Mr. Bush and some still blame Mr. Nader for costing Mr. Gore the election of 2000.

In 2004, President Bush ran for re-election against Democratic nominee Senator John Kerry of Massachusetts. Bush won a narrow yet decisive victory over Kerry and his Vice Presidential nominee, North Carolina Senator John Edwards, winning 51% of the popular vote and 286 of the 270 electoral votes needed to win the Presidency.

  5. George Bush Sr the first time and Bob Dole the second time, Al Gore was Bill Clinton's running mate

  6. Clinton beat George H.W. Bush the first time, and Bob Dole the second time.

  7. B H W Bush in 1992 and Bob Dole in 1998
