What job would i b good @?

I'm good at writing and I get good marks in it and I've been published 5 times and I entered a story contest in the newspaper and I didn't check my messages until they had already published the article.

So yeah, that was pretty disappointing, but when I called the number they editor explained to me that they had already made the story and it was too late but she said it was really good and asked me if I was in university or high school and told her I was in 7th grade.

Can I get that story published somewhere else?

Also, I am very good at writing poetry and I've even wrote some rap songs and people on this site told me it was good.

I was just thinking about what I want to be when I grow up. I like writing and I'm good at it but, I think writing newspaper articles and being told what to write would be boring. Then I wanted to be poet and than a rapper.

And I now it sounds kinda selfish, but I do want my name out there. I love being center of attention

You know, I watch a show on tv about some writers who write books about true events that happen but they follow the story and make it into a book.  You work for your self and you are a writer.  Sounds like what you want.  good luck.

7th grade: keep writing things you like to write about and then about 9th grade start looking at colleges that promote writing and look for jobs that offer your kind of writing. remember the movies are written by writers and right now they are on strike in new york. so good luck. and keep up the great writing.

I am in 6th grade so.. we are pretty close in as far as grade wise go :]..

Well I would suggest probably looking into a school club. Maybe call it "all around just plain writers". That way you can meet others who look into that kinda stuff. You never know how it might happen, maybe the other student knows a way to get your name known.

    Another suggestion I have is if you have a "myspace" or "youtube" you can record your songs and post tehm everywhere. Some how, some way.. it will get to a producer and they will let you know what they think about your songs.

all artists like attention... it is why we create. I would use the net to research all the options there are for writers. you are young enough to take time to really decide which direction to go. if being locked into being to told what to write isn't you, then you might try freelancing. just remember that not everyone who is talented gets to be well paid or famous. but lots of good luck in your pursuits in whichever direction they takr you.

If you are an excellent writer, continue to push for a job at a newspaper, or magazine. Keep writing and sending your stuff to various places. You don't necessarily have to write what you are told, you could have your own column or something cool like that!

You also may want to look into taking a Communications course in college or university to specialize in journalism!

ok first start localy like you can make solgans for local busnisses or for naboriors trying to sell stuff, but keep putting stories in the contest's. and then sooner or later someone's got to notice you. just work hard around friends family and post stuff up.
