  1. ali was better, but dont automaticaly tear jones apart when comparing the two. Jones is a better boxer (no, that isnt a typo). Ali just had two many flaws in his style, held his hands to low, pulled his head straight back when he saw a punch coming (thats how joe frazier hit him with all those left hooks), and was to willing to accept a punch to prove how tough he was. Jones is more technically sound, he just isnt as much of a fighter as ali was. ali got by from 60'-67' on blinding speed. from 70'-81' he got by on toughness, things like the rope a dope, grabbing behind the head, and all kinds of gimmicks, including his name, to get ahead on the judges scorecards. roy jones got by from 89'-04' with blinding speed. but when his speed dissipated like ali's, he crumbled, he didnt have the grit to get in there a take heavy shots like ali. when evaluating boxers it eventually comes down to how tough they were, and jones just cant match up with ali

  2. With Ali's great record as it stands, don't forget he was banned from boxing in his prime. He should go down as the one of the greatest of all times

  3. Well this narrow this down.  Ali beat Sonny Liston twice, Joe Frazier twice, George Foreman, Jimmy Young, Ken Norton twice, Jimmy Ellis, Bob Foster, Floyd Patterson twice, Cleveland Williams, Jerry Quarry, Oscar Bonavena, Mac Foster, Henry Cooper, and is regarded by many as the greatest heavyweight champ in history.  Roy Jones especially at the lighter weights was outstanding too but who was the best fighter he ever beat?  Tarver? Hopkins? Ruiz?  Not bad but not in the same league with Ali obviously.  If they could have fought in their prime, Ali would have knocked him out in 4-6 rounds.

  4. Ali has to B the man!Right,left,Right...tats it.

  5. Roy Jones Jr. Roy Jones never got touched until he went up to heavy weight and came back down to light heavy weight when you take off 25lbs. of mussel that fast you lose a lot I love ALI but you asked who is a better boxer Roy Jones Jr. with out a question in my opinion is the bet boxer who has ever lived

  6. i think they're both awsome top two ever, if in the same weght class probly a tie both had speed both were agile, and had power. in a knock down wins fight then ali

if they were in a speed match jones jr.. regular  tie
