okay. so Man O' War and secretariat are related? correct, i know that. but i want your opinions on who was better. because i honestly to myself go for MOW. because he was bigger, but yet even though secretariat beat his record, he was completely let go and free to run, giving all, but when Man O' War set that record, it was muddy, and he was held back and still in case he had a bowed tendon almost. and secretariat won 16 out of 21, and MOW 20 out of 21. and lots of jockeys and old trainers say back then competetors were more feirce and harder to beat. and that they would crush the horses of today. i just want you opinions..

 1.
I vote for Man O'War. However, this is a loaded answer as it is not that lear cut. No matter who you are, no materr who you vote for, you have to admit that both horses were phenominal athletes who left their distinct and indelible mark on racing history and the public who adored them. If not, we would not be having this discussion as MOW was born 94 years ago and SEC was born 41 years ago. One individual voted stated that neither horse has any of their bloodline running anymore, and it was said in a rather negative or condesending manner. First of all I am sure somewhere out there some of there blood is still moving on the track, for MOW it is probably through his daughters as he produced more great daughters then sons, and as they were bred to stallions over several years the blood line would become less prominant, but let us not forget that 53 years after MOW's birth was the birth of SEC who is related to him. Also, part of the reson you no longer see their blood line as strong as before is do to the changing face of racing. Like all the equine sports it has evolved greatly since the two horse we speak of and their time and the breed lines like all other equine sports go ina diferent direction as they try to produce horses better suited to the particular sport. I voted for Man O' War instead of Secreteriate because based on their track record and the heavy weight MOW was forced to carry in attempt to slow him down as was also done to Sebisquit who MOW also beat, and the generally condition of the tracks he ran on which were in the earliest stages as American racing was, the tack he wore and everything else was so crude compared to the time frame SEC ran I say he is better and had he been afforded the same opportunities as SEC his racing record would have been even better and SEC may not have broken MOW's records. Also, lets not forget that the chicken came before the egg and Man O 'War's genetic material in the perfect configuration created secreteriate. I vote for MOW, but both horses deserve the special place in history they have, they were amazing and they had people who loved them dearly and their stories a what dreams are made of.
