  1. Ive heard DeSean Jackson is looking like a smooth route runner and is looking more and more like the go-to guy Philly was looking for ever since TO and Donte Stallworth left.

  2. Desean Jackson this year....But Devin Thomas has the most potential to be a great player.Wait till he gets it going.Best thing the Redskins did was not picking up Ocho Cinco.

  3. Limas Sweed. The big reciever Big Ben was looking for.

  4. First wide receiver picked in the draft was Donnie Avery out of Houston by the St. Louis Rams.  Drew Bennett hasn't been lighting the world on fire and there is talk that Avery will soon inherent the #2 role in the Rams offense that used to be Isaac Bruce's.

Check the box score the first couple of weeks.  Donnie Avery may soon be starting for the Rams in a position that traditionally puts up great numbers.

  5. Jackson.

McNabb is healthy and motivated this year, and the other WRs in PHI are pretty bad.  He'll hook up with Jackson for tons of catches this season.

  6. desean jackson is going to be the best

  7. James Hardy will be a beast!

  8. My selection of the best rookie WR will be DeSean Jackson of the Eagles.  He has already been named as the # 1 WR with Kevin Curtis out for at least half the season and Reggie Brown injured.  Jackson has emerged in the preseason and has been nothing less than spectacular.  In the preseason, he has caught the most passes (16) and most receiving yards (189) in 3 games.  He has built strong repore with McNabb and has shown maturity in knowing the Eagles playbook.  He runs great routes, speed, amd great hands.  On top of that, he will be working on special teams and has already scored a 75 yard punt return for a TD.

Limas Sweed was picked first.  However, he will not get as much playing time in his rookie season as will Jackson.  Because of this opportunity presented before him during the preseason, he will have the edge over the other rookie WRs.

Thumbs up to those who agree.

  9. as a bills fan I'll vote for james hardy.he's 6'6 decent hands, should work well in the red zone.needs to stay out of trouble though

  10. Donnie Avery was the first WR taken this year by the Rams. He is a short, speedy receiver who will probably not produce too much this year. However, I am going to show you my top 5 choices for rookie WR's. Here they are:

    1) DeSean Jackson, WR, Philadelphia Eagles: The kid is freakishly fast, while possessing good hands as well. He is listed as the number 3 receiver in Philly with Reggie Brown and Kevin Curtis in front of him, making him one of McNabbs favorite targets.

    2) Eddie Royal, WR, Denver Broncos: He has speed, route running, and hands. But, he is also listed as the number 2 WR behind Brandon Marshall who is out for week 1. Royal will get plenty of looks and has the best chance to get receptions.

    3) Limas Sweed, WR, Pittsburgh Steelers: He is the best all around WR from the 08 draft. Steelers will give him some good amount of play time, but won't over load him. He is listed as the number 4 WR so he shouldn't be a favorite target just quite yet.

    4) Will Franklin, WR, Kansas City Chiefs: Sleeper guy here. He is listed as the number 3 guy on the team while being behind Devard Darling, making him a possible favorite target. He has great speed, and very strong hands. He will surprise plenty of people this year.

    5) Devin Thomas, WR, Washington Redskins: At the #4 spot on the depth chart, he shouldn't get a ton of receptions just yet. However, whenever he does, he will definitely make the most of it.

    Honorable Mentions:

J.J. Hardy, WR, Buffalo Bills: Tall, red zone threat who will have some great success.

Malcolm Kelly, WR, Washington Redskins: Great skill, but too far down in the depth chart to have too much success at this point.

Donnie Avery, WR, St. Louis Rams: First WR taken, and he has the speed to be worth it. He won't get too many receptions this year, but he will be returning some kicks along the way.

Mario Manningham, WR, New York Giants: He is hurt, but he is a phenomenal WR. I think that Mario will be the best WR from the 2008 draft in about 5 years. He has great talent.

  11. Eddie Royal he's a crazy wide reciever.

  12. I think the kid from Oklahoma, Malcom Kelly is it? Will be very good, also the one from Michigan State... I cant think right now x.x

  13. I'm picking a sleeper in Eddie Royal of Denver. That kid is going to be one h**l of a WR. With the WR situation the way it is in Denver, he's got a great opportunity to solidify himself in the starting lineup.

He had a great preseason and is set to start week 1.

  14. I like Eddie Royal as well. But Desean Jackson will play more downs than Royal so this year i think Jackson will be more valuable to his team and have the better year.

  15. One who might surprise is Jordy Nelson of the Packers. He has great hands, is sneaky fast, and because he will be the fifth receiver in the most talented group in the league,he'll have the ability to sneak up and bite you in the a$$ if you don't watch out! plus, he's a primo return man, too,so Nelson should be a man to watch in the NFL.
