  1. The people, lead by the houses of parliament, the prime minister and the Queen.

  4. The unelected council of the EU

  5. Once the Lisbon Treaty is ratified by all 27 countries, the EU will have complete rule over us.The British government will be reduced to a mere council. Read the Lisbon treaty!

  6. The prime minister and parliament the quees is just a figurehead

  7. The unelected beauracrats and "experts" who shape Government policy.

A prime example for those who doubt it is the decision to invade Iraq based on the "sexed up" dossier supplied to Blair by his unelected, civil service "advisors"

  8. The Queen is Head of State.

The Prime Minister is Head of Government.

    However, Ozzy rules.

  9. The permanent civil servants. The politicians come and go, they are only interested in the money and privileges they get, but the top ccs stay there all their lives if they want to.  Personally, I think that they are all Martians out to destroy Britain, for every single decision made by any British government in the last 50 years has been designed to destroy the country. Correct me if I am wrong.

  10. The electorate appoint MP's.

Those MP's assembled in Parliament choose the Prime Minister (and can dismiss him/her again).

The PM chooses the other Ministers (Parliament can also dismiss these).

Parliament makes the law and scrutinises the work of the Ministers.

The Cabinet (senior Ministers) make policy and supervise the Civil Service.

    So -

    - in the short term power rests with the Cabinet, within parameters set by Parliament..

    - in the medium term it rests with Parliament, who can sack an unsatisfactory Cabinet.

    - in the long term it rests with the electorate who choose the MP's.

  11. The Scots Mafia.

  20. The Priminister and the Parliment! The royal family is a figurehead position! The Queen meets with the Priminister once a week to discuss issues and has her input but her decision isn't always the one that goes! Trust me I studied her for like 2 months!

    What do you think?

  22. The Prime Minister, who has dictatorial powers, with inadequate checks and balances from Parliament and the Lords.

The Royals haven't ruled for centuries, since 1688 they've been a tourist attraction.

  23. The Central Bank.

America's central bank rules America as well.

Any country that borrows money irresponsibly is ruled by the banksters.

Anybody who thinks 'parliament' or a 'Prime Minister', a 'congress' or 'President' rules a country once debt spirals out of control is simply naive or ignorant.

  24. it seems its the immigrants
