Who agrees with me that it will be far better when AFL grand finals are played in other states other than Vic?

I think the grand finals shoulsd equally shared between all states currently competing in the AFL.

It could be played at Brisbane (1 in 16 years) Sydney (1 in 16y) Adelaide (2 in 16y) Perth (2 in 16 y) Melbourne (10 in 16y).

Melbourne shouldn't have all the GF's , they should be shared equally, seeing that is a national game.

I'm sure the majority of supporters think the same as me.

It would be a good idea but the only reason its played at the MCG is coz its the biggest stadium and it holds the most people so if they played anywhere else their wouldnt be many people showing up

Listen i understand what your getting at. AFL is mainly supported in WA,NT,SA and VIC. WA & SA would go completely crazy for a grand final but i think that the G is the home of AFL and you can't give away the grand final. QLD & SA wouldn't care they are all about their rugby. Melbourne should definately keep the grand final it's VIC's game and VIC should keep it.

Fairness

If we are taking about fairness then I can see the point.

Financial

The MCG holds close to 100,000 people. Corporate sponsors are more in VIC due to the 10 Vic clubs ie more dollars.

I don't have a problem with it being played in Melbourne. The last decade has shown that interstate teams have no problem winning grand finals at MCG. It's like how the FA cup final is always at Wembley. The goal is to play at the MCG on the last Saturday in September - that kind of tradition takes a long time to build up.

Melbourne should have all the grand finals because AFL is a Melbourne game.

The MCG is the best stadium in Australia and one of the best in the world.

The AFL Grand Final should stay in Melbourne forever.

As long as the other finals are played in their home state on merit not the almighty dollar I think the MCG should always be the home of the GF it wouldn't be the same anywhere else.

Sydney is the only other city with a stadium even approaching big enough.  As a Cats member, it was hard enough to get tickets this year.  

AAMI stadium wouldn't have enough seats for the "official" guests (you know daughters of friends of guys who once owned 4 shares in a company that invested in Channel Ten, that sort of thing).  There's about 45,000 of them!  (And Port already do everything they can to make sure Crows fans don't get into their home games)

So do we host it once every 16 years in Sydney?  And then what if West Coast play Freo that year (a long time in the future)

u get 90 000 plus to a grand final in melbourne how many would u get if it were in brisbane? not 90 000. the afl has to make money as well and melbourne is the location the most afl supporters live.

I'm not a big fan of the idea.

One of the incentives players have is playing at the MCG in front of 90,000 odd people.

If this doesn't happen than the AFL Grand Final will never be the same again
