  1. Well there are bridesmaids and groomsmen (usually between 2 - 7, but could be more for each). My husband's sister was one of my bridesmaids and his brother was the best man. Then there are flower girl(s) and ring bearer(s)... I had 4 of my cousins do this.  You will need two people to do the readings and one to read the petitions, so you can get family to do that.  Also, someone to carry the cross and the book into the ceremony.  The parents of the bride and groom are also considered wedding party.  We had my grandparents be Eucharist ministers, as well. Hope this helps!

  2. Some jobs include: maid of honor, matron of honor, bridesmaid, flower girl, best man, groomsmen, ring bearer, ushers, lectors (readers), someone to hand out wedding programs, or a few people can carry up the gifts during the ceremony.  In our catholic wedding, we also had special "god parents" that presented us with a bible, a rosary, kneeling pillows for mass, and coins (symbol in mexican wedding).  If there are extra little ones, you could appoint some of them to carry your train as you walk in.  Hope this helps & Good luck!

  3. Thats a thoughtful thing, I would have some people usher in, have some of the little ones help with the guestbook, hold the door for those elderly guests.  There is so much to do, appoint someone special to you to check in on bride(make sure shes not jumping out the window lol j/k).  After people are seated have someone check outside for those late guests, check doors make sure they are shut, have someone help with bridesmaids, to see if they are ok if they need anything, same goes for groomsmen.  That was a few suggestions, the littlest thing someone can do to help on this special day of yours people will do it.  Congratulations

  4. If you could list your family members you need jobs for, that would be very helpful.

    Some Jobs:

    Readings

    Candle Lighting

    Ushers

    Poetry Readers

    Pamphlet Hander Outer (lol)

  5. Well, first you have your bridesmaids and groomsmen...as well as the maid of honor and best man. You can have as many as you like (heck...you can even have a couple of maids of honor's) but they suggest one bridesmaid/groomsman for every 50 people. Then you have the ring bearer and flower girls. I've only seen one ring bearer...but the last wedding I went to had 7 flower girls. It was really cute. You can have someone read a poem or excerpt in your wedding (if the minister or whoever doesn't mind changing the ceremony a little), and you can have about as many ushers as you like (they stand at the front doors and help ladies to their seats). At the reception you can either have several people give toasts, or have one person stand up and give recognition to all of your various family memebers who were not included (we had someone read a piece of paper at the reception that said thanks to so-and-so for travelling all the way from california...thanks to so-and-so for travelling from PA...etc.).

If you still can't fit everyone, put someone in charge of the bridal shower(s), rehearsal dinner, engagement party, etc.

    Just use your imagination.
