You DO know that google doesn't spy on you and you can decide not to send usage statistics and crash reports to Google in the options. There's always the incognito mode if you're feeling really paranoid.

My impression is that it's fast and very responsive like everybody said it would, unlike Firefox which frequently denies user interaction to prioritize the rendering process, and sometimes freezes your computer completely. And if you're talking about speed, the names worth mentioning are Opera and probably Safari (no NOT Firefox), but GChrome seems to be on par, if not slightly outperform them (esp. when it comes to Javascript loading). Another point is that it's totally unobtrusive, seemingly invisible with its smart design, everything feels smooth and quick.

As an unfinished product, it has neither RSS nor extensions, which is the ONLY reason Firefox is still on my PC (though its sharing of code with Firefox it may even become easy for Firefox extensions to be ported over to Chrome). There are still bugs and vulnerability, which is common for every browser on earth. You can wait until the full-featured version or have a try at the latest technology innovations in Google Chrome. As far as I'm concerned, I'm already liking this new baby and gonna use it in preference to Opera for the next few days.

  2. I love the new browser and I think it's going to kill IE. It's just a better browser all together - and super fast. My favorite things about it is that it runs Javascript code much faster and that makes Google docs so much better!

It's working great for me as we speak, and I'm a die hard Firefox user!

  3. Very stripped down browser. Not alot of features. I had problems with websites with video plug ins. OK for basic browsing.

  4. It works, and it quite fast.

    However it's barebones.

... And there are browsers that are also barebones that are also faster than Chrome.

... But for beginners, they will work wonders.... Until they discover those browsers. =)

  5. I haven't and i wont, every thing you do on Chrome is sent back to Google. It is a lot like a key logger.

  6. You can opt out of feed back to google. It is very light and clean which I think is a plus. It loads a page lickity split. Only drawback is theres no java plug-in yet but im sure they will make one soon.
