digi box was playing up a week ago on the saturday, kept turning itself off. On the sunday and the rest of the week was fine. Friday (yesterday) turned itself off and hasnt come on since. Rang virgin this morning to get it sorted, they told me to unplug it, which i told them i already had and still not working. As soon as i said that, the woman (foreigner) told me to unplug it to which i replied 'ive just told you, ive done that an its not workin'!!!!! She then booked for a repair chap to come out on tuesday! i said i want it done today or tomorrow at the latest, then she told me that all the installation and repair team are on their holidays at the moment! I couldnt believe it, rather than have one guy on hols then wait for him to get back before the next ones go so they always have cover, they all go at the same time. So basically, if your systems down and you need it urgently like internet for work, its tough, the boys need their week on the beach! I dont begrudge anyone a holiday but when you have customers to look after, surely staggered holiday is the only option so there is cover?

Ive also had various other problems with vigin, wish i could go back to sky, but because of where i live, its either virgin or nothing. Since they have taken over all cable tv company's they are a pile a ****. Nearly everyone i know who has virgin has said the same.

  1. I've had no problems with Virgin, but I'm sufficiently technically savvy to reset my own boxes.  The only major interruption to my service was when next door's gardener put a spade through the cable, but a quick bodge got it going again until the engineer could be bothered to turn up.

  2. Don't forget to insist on a reduction on your next bill as a result of their failure to provide access to internet / TV and adequate service

  3. I've been fairly lucky with my equipment to be honest...touch wood it's never gone wrong!!

I have had to speak to the customer service team before and it was painful!!

When I had problems I threatened to leave them and was put thru to the disconnections team, who spoke very good english and bent over backwards to help me and  ended up sorting me out with a really good deal!!
