1.  Robin Hood. Robber in the twelfth Century, in Sherwood Forest, near Nottingham, England. Robbed the rich Norman barons to help the oppressed Saxon farmers.Legend.

2.  Ned Kelly. Australian bushwhacker. Fact.

3.  d**k Turpin. Famous English highwayman in 18th. Century England. Real robber about whom many urban myths grew up. Most famous of these is that he rode his famous horse Black Bess from London to York, a distance of several hundred miles and that she dropped dead on arrival in the city.Was eventually hanged at Tyburn Tree, London before a huge crowd of his admirers.

Augustine Chacon - a merciless late-19th century outlaw and killer operating on both sides of the Mexican border.  Responsible for the deaths of over 50 people, most of them Mexicans.  Captured and sentenced to death at Solomonville, Arizona, he escaped from his own hanging and fled to Sonora, Mexico, from which he was eventually recaptured and returned for execution in 1902.

I first read about this man in a book about the Old West when I was about 12, but the details I just posted here came from a website (see link).  He always struck me as being a much meaner and deadlier kind of outlaw than most of the better known ones like Billy the Kid.

Dear leonard ..I am answering you from Italy...In 1800 we have a great "Outlaws" he was called Domenico Tiburzi..He lived in Tuscany and have a gang..He assailed stage-coach (diligence) of rich bishops an rich people that were going to Rome..from Siena .He stay 20 years in the forest near Rome..He buryed a lot of treasuries..in old tree (quercus.oak).The history is a romance..look here http://it.wikipedia.org/wiki/Domenico_Ti... (sorry it is in italian language) He was dressed (there are photos blak/white tied on a tree died after his capture) with a special hat (cow-boy) and armed like a Mexican 2 guns (revolvers) a and a rifle (short)..I know the history because he was killed in home of uncle of my grandfather..He was sleeping in a farm and when after 2 ours of fire he understood to have no chances he suicide with a small revolver (derringer) that have under hat..There is also an interesting story how he was put in cemetery of "Capalbio" city..Now there is a tree on his tomb...If you want know more write me...
