4 ANSWERS

  1. Spain, Germany, France, UK, US, Italy

  2. Portugal's main and longest ally is the UK and thus all of those that Britain brings with it, including Australia, New Zealand, Canada, India and the rest of the Commonwealth plus the US.

It is the longest alliance in history, beginning unoficially in 1294 and finally confirmed by the Treaty of Windsor in 1386. It remained the cornerstone of Portuguese foreign policy for over 500 years. Although both countries are members of the EU and NATO and their relations are coordinated by these institutions, there have been occasions when the treaty has been invoked, the last time being in 1982 during the Falklands War when Portugal offered the Azores to the Royal Navy to use as a temporary base.

  3. All the countries in the EU, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, about half of the South American countries, and, many other nations around the world. Portugal has many friends.

  4. NATO
