Who are your top 5 cricketing nations. Not according to stats but according to you.

Justifying your answer would be good. (NUDGE: could get you best answer) :)

1]INDIA off course

2]SOUTH AFRICA-It has many good players & sure,equal fighters for India.

3]NEW ZEALAND-At one time,it was my favourite team but I lost my interest to it after the departure of 2 of my MOST favourte cricketers from it-Chris Cairns & Nathan Astle.That was very sad.Since then,I lost my half interest to it but now Ross Taylor & Brendon McCullum are replacing them.

4]SRI LANKA-It has many good players like Jayawardene,Sangakkara,Jayasuriya & I like it especially bcz I had visited it through Kanyakumari 1 year back.

5]AUSTRALIA-It is the reigning team in the world with many good players like Mike Hussey,Clarke,Punter,Brett Lee & yeah,I like that team as well.

1) India - India tops the chart bcoz my fav cricketing team is my national team, i.e, India.

2) South Africa- I like South Africa bcoz they play very well !

3)Australia - Though they are the world champs but still i 've put them in the third position, perhaps bcoz of the recent controversies...but i admire them as a team

4) Sri Lanka- Bcoz they are a good team, they 've some spectacular players like Muralitharan and Jayasuriya

5) New Zealand- Bcoz i like the way the kiwis play, they 've some very good players like Vettori, McCullum...

1. England :P- Well seeing as ive lived there my whole life! i think its a easy choice. Favourite Player- Michael Vaughan

2. Ireland- Our Close neighbours, showed amazing togetherness in the Cricket World Cup! Alll there players seem like a down to earth bunch! who you could have a few beers with after the game- Favourite Player- Niall O Brien

3. West Indies- Ive always loved the Windies, since i watched them as a kid, the have an amazing thirst for the game! They never stop trying! and when they get wickets it always means the world to them!! Favourite player- Shiv Chanderpaul

4. Australia- The old enemy!!! Ive always admired there never say quit attitude! they play hard and work for every run/wicket! and when the going gets tough, it seems like The Aussies play better! Total opposite from England. Favourite player- Ricky Ponting

RANATUNGA,MAHANAMA,ARAVINDA IN --- SL HAVE ALSO NOT FOUND  PROPER REPLACEMENTS

5. IF 4TH MAY BE TIE I WOULD STILL GO FOR MY 5TH RANKING----- ENGLAND FOR THEIR BRILLIANT ASHES VICTORY IN 2005 AND OFFLATE THEY HAVE DONE WELL AGAINST NEWZEALAND TOO

INDIA- It awakes the spirit in me! My own nation so thats obvious. We got the best batting line up in the world.

New Zealand- The blacks caps are an under-rated team, people say they don't have star players but I disagree 'cause Oram, McCullum, Styris, Vettori, Bond(unfortunately banned for now) are the top stars in world cricket, they're just not mentioned enough. Fleming was one of the most intelligent skippers game has ever seen.

England- I actually want them to be a top team, I admired the smart captaincy of Nasser Hussain back in 2000 & now Michael Vaughan but they are a little inconsistant with their performance.

Zimbabawe- Liked them more till 2002 when they still had Sean Ervine, Andy Blignaut & Streak but their cricket board has totally ruined the talent. I feel for the players.

South Africa- Since I started watching cricket, they've been one of the teams I really liked & the likes of Gibbs, Klusner, Allan Donald, they been my fav. players.

India (Home country of course it will be in the top 5 but what I don't like is that the team always blame someone else )

South Africans ( powerful team love to watch their matches)

England (team spirit , spirit of the game is what I remember )

Ireland ( I loved their performance in WC)

For me sports are just about entertainment, the team to entertain the most will be my favourite

I know some people will not like this top 5 , But its my choice and I have the right to make my decision

Edit - I really like it when underdogs give a fight even if its against my team

India- they play well......wouldn't want to comment much on ODI's and 20-20 games but r the rulers of test cricket with gr8s like dravid, tendulkar, ganguly and kumble in the team

Sri Lanka- powerful batting unit

South Africa- good mix of players who provide an all rounder unit

New Zealand- they are just naturally god

Pakistan- good batsmen nothin else

I guess that would be my top 5

My top 5 teams are:

1) Australia

The reasons? They are not in my bottom 5:). My bottom 5 along with justifications are given below:

1) Bangladesh: Sadly, I am from Bangladesh, but I must admit they are not good enough for Test match cricket.

2) Zimbabwe: After the exodus of white players and political intereference, their standard has gone down to far worse than Bangladesh or Kenya, even if they did beat Australia in a T20.

3) West Indies: Barring Chanderpaul and Sarwan, have no batting strength to speak of (I hate Gayle's technique; no footwork, stand-and-deliver slogger, frequently found out on swinging tracks). Possibly barring Jerome Taylor, not much in the bowling either.

4) Pakistan: Too many controversy, team-infighting and inexperienced players, as a result they are never consistent. (Their 12 game winning streak was against Zimbabwe and Bangladesh).

5) New Zealand: After the departure of Nathan Astle, Stephen Fleming and Craig McMillan, the batting can hardly be termed world-class. Without Shane Bond, they lack a genuine fast bowler, and barring Daniel Vettori, they lack quality spinners as well.
