  1. Seriously, if you are asking what is the role of teachers in preschool and what do they do, you need to go to a preschool and observe.  I promise you one thing, they don't sit on their backsides.

    Get out and go watch.  Then decide if you are up to it.  Heard of "Army Strong"?  It doesn't hold a candle to a classroom of 2 year olds.

  2. Lead Practitioner/Teacher=plans and assess curriculum, supervisises staff ,attend meetings and courses, meet with other professionals, disucssions with parents, paperwork for legal side of the setting, dealing with inspections, budgets and wages.

    Deputy=takes over and supports leader.

    Advanced Practitioner=to support the children, help to plan individual curriculum/learning plans, setting up and clean down, support the care and wellbeing, personal hygiene and general routine of the day. Attend meetings and training.

    Assistant Practitioner=same as above but maybe with less responsibilities in terms of daily routine-supports the senior member that day/activity/room.

    Helpers=supports all the staff-helps in cleaning, care of chilren, supporting by sitting with inidividual childrne, setting out and preparing craft activities etc.

    Then there's specialists such as

    SENCO-special educational needs coordinator who supports children who have an additional need, and helps to assess children to help raise any concerns with parents/professionals.
