Who are our best australian olympians at Beijing?

We have fantastic swimmers, basketball, water polo and all sorts of amazing atheletes - who are our best???

I think Rice has done pretty well for Australia. Perhaps others will shine once medal rounds begin in basketball (depending on how well Australia does against Spain, Argentina and the USA), water polo (Spain, Hungary, Croatia, Serbia and USA may be tough), beach volleyball (6 teams are 3-0), and softball. Time will only tell but Rice seems to be the shining star right now...and deservedly so.

Stephanie Rice hands down at this stage. No other Aussie will win 3 (possibly 4) gold this time around. What an amazing effort.

Hackett will certainly be up there if he gets his third gold.

Apart from that it will be interesting to see what our cyclists do eg. Bayley and Mears.
