  1. ya know, i have never heard of any politics about adoptions at all, i dont even think they think about it as a major issue unless it is brought up as a problem.  we complained to govt chris about DCF and he sent his right arm man (as he stated) and he made our area worse for the wear after he corrected the items we complained about. that included the adoption items too

  2. Representative Janet Allen (R - New Hampshire) who led New Hampshire to reopen records and restore equality for adoptees in that state.

    Woohoo, Janet Allen!!!!!!

When Janet first ran for public office, one of her big goals was to restore equal access rights for adopted citizens.  She first took office in 2002 and continues to hold office.

This is the bill that passed:

In looking at your question again, I noticed something.

What is up with the "Rainy" "empty" "leather" stuff?  I think the question you asked has a lot of merit in and of itself.  However, to use it as a way to ridicule three very good, experienced, intelligent contributing members is just mean.  I consider these people not only well-versed in adoption, but friends as well.

If you want to have meaningful discourse about adoption, I think that's great.  But, ridiculing others doesn't add to it.  It only serves to add to troubles here.

Phil, it could even be "sandstone."

  3. Most of the Adoption matters on the government level are handled by the House members for some odd reason... I have and often write Senetors and House Members---usually get some 'form-letter' answer about how these issues are in the forefront of the members agenda and that they share my concern...?.....hmmmm...

Someone has to actually listen in order for government to care.... that seems to be the biggest problem with so many things....  I wish there was a solid leader right now--but, I can't think of one.... There doesn't even seem to be a strong public leader right now---Dave Thomas is gone so..... hardly a voice is speaking.......

  4. I think it's probably "tidegeek" or maybe "marmaduke"...  but sometimes it's hard to tell...  ;)

  5. Here is what Obama's Campaign wrote back.....Hillary Clinton and John McCain have never responded!!!!

Subject: Response to Your Message to Senator Obama

    Dear Friend,

Thank you for contacting Senator Obama and Obama for America. We

appreciate hearing from you about this important issue.

Senator Obama believes that the deeply personal decision of whether or

not to abort a pregnancy should remain among her family, her doctor,

and her conscience.  For women who choose it, he believes abortion should

be safe, legal and rare—in line with the Supreme Court decision in

    Roe v. Wade.

At the same time, government should do better at encouraging

alternatives to abortion.  Senator Obama supports proposals to decrease the costs

of adoption and make the process easier.  He cosponsored the

Prevention First Act in the Senate, which seeks to expand access to preventive

health care services that reduce unintended pregnancies, reduce the

number of abortions, and improve access to women's health care.  Women all

around America should have access to quality family planning services,

and we must do more to realize that goal.

Thank you again for contacting us.

    Sincerely,

    Obama for America
