Who are some famous people or events from Peru?

I am doing a project for school and I would really appreciate if you could help. The people do not need to be still alive, and the events do not have to be current (though it would be helpful if they were). Thanks in advance!

Montesinos (politician that ran away with all of peruvian's money)
