Among soccer mads worlwide, Jose Luis Chilavert is a well knwon figure who revolutionized the goal tending position in soccer, and added the goalie to the score manufacturing schemes of the game. Great player and quite a character as an individual!

Dr. Jose Gaspar Rodriguez de Francia.  He was president of Paraguay from its independence in 1812 through 1840.  He had a doctorate in theology and he rarely allowed foreigners to visit his country.  Those that did were often put under house arrest.  He called himself "El Supremo."
