Who are speculators. What are their job titles, and which companies employ "speculators" ie: Oil/Gas, etc.?

This is related to the energy crisis, this question.

Speculators,,,,we hear alot about them.

What are their job titles? Which companies do they work for?

new college grads? or people who have been around, and are primarily older, with degrees, and more understanding of how the market works?

I would like specifics on who oil speculators are, their job titles, and which companies hire "Speculators".

Good question.  Apparently no one really knows for sure because there is no required tracking.  Oil markets are less regulated than markets for stocks and bonds.

The media stopped short in naming them,,, they do know who they are,,, one big one is G Soros,,,he actually bought Bush oil speculating company (in the 80s).....funny how they played a part in the economy to make it bad for the election.... and our money was devaluing,,,isn't that how soros made his fortune,,,, funny how its happening now for the election. Soros wants his boy in.....at all cost...

Great question.  I would also like to know when the speculators take possession of the 145 dollar a barrel oil they bought?  Or did they really buy it?
