Who are superior? Aussie or Kiwi Sportsmen when it comes to winning a sporting event final?

Who has more toughness or guts?

When it comes to a final I think Australians have the edge on us. They seem willing to do anything to win and i think a great example of this is the legendary underarm incident. They may have cheated but i really don't think they cared, they won the World cup and that was all that mattered. As far as better sports people NZ is far superior. Aussies have no reason not to succeed with all there institutions and money that goes into there sport, where on the other hand it is very difficult for kiwis to gain funding and support.

I'm afraid to say the records suggest Australia. However when it comes to per capita then that would be S. Africa (European Community) iro Golf, Cricket and Rugby.

Kiwi sports folk are far superior because they compete as honest sportsfolk; and not those that try to bend the rules,take the rules to their extreme, or downright cheat.

Kiwis are amazing cos we are such a small nation, and as far as toughness and guts go, we pride ourselves on it.

However, as far as mental toughness goes, the Aussies have that one in the bag!

I'd say they are pretty even, give aussie the mental toughness edge, but then NZ has the fact its a tiny country.

I think that mental edge is clear here, I mean look how many kiwis here and saying aussies are better... I can't imagine too many aussies EVER saying that same about kiwis!!!

Per population the Kiwis have the best sporting stats in the WORLD. There are not many events that kiwis are in that they havent taken top honours. World champs at some stage in nearly every sport competed. This from a country that has sydneys population, so by far kiwis are superior sportsman.

I haven't been able to see Kiwi sportsmen winning a final, so I would have to say the Aussies. But I don't think it's a question of toughness or guts.

Im also Kiwi,and have to agree.Our history is against us,but I think the Kiwi vs Aussie rivalry is the most enjoyable to watch then any other.In any sport.

All blacks are awsome , i am South African and when ever SA plays either All Blacks or Aussies im always nervous with the All Blacks not the Aussies

After watching many years of sport between the two,as a Kiwi, much as i hate to admit it, the answer Aussies.Over the last 20yrs they have developed a mental & physical attitude when down,they have the ability to rise  & when winning put the opposition away, in any way they can.Just look at Cricket, Rugby League, Golf, Netball & Tennis for examples.Give credit where credit is due, thats why they are Commonwealth Games Champions & rising up the ladder at Olympic Games.

Definitely Kiwi. Aussies pump ludicrous amounts of cash into sport, especially compared to New Zealand's sports funding and yet still, Kiwis dominate them.  A lot of people seem to forget that the crusaders are New Zealanders and that the world cup only happens once every four years.
