  1. 10. TOP SIX PLAYERS

    10.1 Each NRL Club must:

    (a) confidentially notify each Top Six Player that they are a Top Six Player; and

    (b) keep the remuneration details of its Top Six Players and the fact that a Player is a Top Six Player confidential, except as required by law or the NRL Rules, and provided that nothing in this clause prevents either the NRL Club or the Player from disclosing the contents of this Agreement.

10.2 Each Player at an NRL Club who is notified by an NRL Club that they are a Top Six Player for the purposes of this clause must also keep this information confidential

  2. nathen hindmarsh

  3. inu, sbw, thurston, lockyer, gasnier not sure on them but would be close, dont know the last 2.

  4. Israel Folau will supposely be on 400'000 a year at the Broncos.

I Know Darren Lockyer is on 500'000

Johnathan Thurston is on 400'000 at the Cowboyys

Sonny Bill Williams is on 400'000 at the Bulldogs

Mark Gasnier is the Highset paid in Australia, He's on 600'000 a year at the Dragons

For some reason Ben Ross is on 400'000 a year but doesn't even play Rep Football

Greg Inglis is on alot at the the Storm, probaly 400'000+

It might include players in the Super League where Matt King is on 500'000 a season.

  5. My guess

Benji Marshall - after his 2005 season where he led the Tigers to a premiership, his contract was due to expire in 2006 - so there was a bidding war in the off season to 2006. Tigers knew they had lost Prince to the Gold Coast so had free money. He resigned to the Tigers - and has played 24 matches in 2 1/2 seasons since.

Scott Prince - Titans starting up and Prince was the form halfback. Needed a big name half back to lure other players.

    Jonathon Thurston - No brainer

Brett Kimmorley - Took some money to get him from the Storm to Northern Eagles - and when Anderson went to Cronulla he wanted to bring his favoured boy over and restructure the team around him so he payed whatever it took to get him to come to Cronulla. His contract has yet to expire.

Sonny Bill Williams - In resigning Mason and Sonny Bill they Canterbury used a very large chunk of the salary cap and shed players like O'Meley. Sonny Bill was the main target and got the most pay.

Willie Mason - Was probably on 400K with the Dogs anyway as the focus was to retain him and Sonny Bill at all costs. How much did the Roosters pay to get him to shift. Definitely.

If there are only 7 my last guess is  one of two - Orford. Manly wanted him and Storm wanted him. Manly sacrificed a few players to get him at the time. Orfords contract still hasn't expired. or Asotasi - Souths were desperate for a big name signing to get players to come over. They went all out for Asotasi who was a young guy recognised as the worlds best prop. Hmm - Asotasi I think

Out of those only 4 - JT, Prince, Asotasi and SBW would be the only ones worth it.

I would have thought one or two more - not just 7. Justin Hodges was wanted by Broncs and Roosters and is arguably the best centre in the world and also Jamie Lyon - when he became available from England, a lot of clubs were chasing him - as he was an Australian rep player, and was actually voted in the UK as the best foriegn import to ever play in the Super League.  Hasn't shown much since being back though. Some of the younger guys will be soon - Farah, Inglis etc - but not just yet.
