  1. Who are the Brauhi ?

There are many suggested theories regarding the their origin…some are:

    - It is suggested that they arrived in the region of Pakistan which is their home from the south in the Gupta era or in medieval times.

    - Another idea is that they may have been the survivors of the Indus Valley Civilization, but some researchers discount this concept.

    - However, most researchers are cautious because they could have come from anywhere and at anytime.

    Where do they live ?

The Brauhi people occupy the east side of River Indus across from Mohenjo-daro, very roughly in the region of the present day town of Sukkur, Pakistan.

What are their skin color ?

They are not a dark skinned as the Tamils or Telugu peoples of the south nor the much lighter skin colour of the people’s of Arian descent. But even those of Aryan origin can be from brown to white in colour. Somewhere is between is perhaps the best answer.

    What are their hair color?

Same with the hair colour, but generally not pitch black.

What kind of society is this ?

Today a  plural society, the Brauhi are integrated into the tribal society of Balochistan and consider themselves to be a part of that regions society. These tribes have in the past supported the Sardari system, which tended to keep them in a primitive style of living. Like many peoples living close to the land they tend to have politically nationalist leanings.

What kind of religion is this?

Brauhi is usually considered being a Dravidian language and their religion as well.
