In your opinion who do you rank as the Top Number 1 picks.

A great man has passed..George Carlin who I've had the pleasure of seeing twice in concert along with working with his cousin died of a heart attack last night...He will be missed.

  1. In recent memory (and I don't pay much attention to drafts), Gretzky, Crosby, Stampkos...sure, I'll go with those.

Yeah, that sucked this morning when I got to work and opened up my explorer (so I can slack off before the bosses get in) and found out that he passed away yesterday. We need more people like him in the world: none of this PC bullcrap.

  2. 1. Mario Lemieux

    2. Guy Lafleur

    3. Denis Potvin

    4. Dale Hawerchuk

    5. Gilbert Perreault

  3. First, about George Carlin: the guy was one of the most underrated comedians of all time. I own three of his albums, and every time I listen to them, I roll on the floor laughing. R.I.P. George Carlin!

    On to the question:

    1. Mario Lemieux

    2. Guy LaFleur

    3. Dale Hawerchuk

    4. Mike Modano

    5. Mats Sundin

  4. 1.) Mario Lemeiux

    2.) Guy Lafleur

    3.) Mike Modano

    4.) Mats Sundin

    5.) Joe Thornton/Vinny Lecavalier

**Soon to join the list, Crosby and Ovie I'm sure.

    (Probably showing my youth.)

I loved Carlin, although he got increasingly morbid with his acts as he got older, he truly told it like it was. I actually have a couple of his books, and I saw him live once in NYC. He was a heck of a funny guy. RIP.

  5. George Carlin is going to be greatly missed by many people, myself included. He was absolutely hilarious, my favorite comedian ever.

As far as the top 5 number one draft choices

    1970 Gilbert Perreault

    1971 Guy Lafleur

    1973 Denis Potvin

    1981 Dale Hawerchuk

    1984 Mario Lemieux

5 of the greatest players to ever play the game. It is a shame most of us never got to see them in their prime.

  6. uhh aren't you guys forgetting about wayne gretzky, greatest of all time..

  7. 1.  Mario Lemieux

    2.  Gilbert Perreault

    3.  Denis Potvin

    4.  Dale Hawerchuk

    5.  Guy Lafleur

All born in Quebec, or played in the QMJHL

  8. 1) Mario Lemieux

    2) Rocket Richard

    3) Guy Lafleur

    4) Denis Potvin

    5) Mike Modano.

Yes I heard the news of Carlin's passing last night and passed on the news  I enjoyed his comedy very much. I grew up watching his stuff, as my Dad was a huge fan. I will miss him  RIP

  9. 1. Maurice "The Rocket" Richard

    2. Mario Lemieux

    3. Wayne Gretzky

    4. Guy LaFleur

    5. Patrick Roy

  10. I think you have to look at players that are retired - Sid the Kid would be up there but we don't know how that will turn out yet. Players drafted befroe 1969 were done on a 'free-for-all' bases (unless they were born and played in Quebec) so players like The Rocket do not count.

    1) Mario Lemieux

    2) Guy Lafleur

    3) Dale Hawerchuk

    4) Eric Lindros (I hate him too)

    5) Gilbert Perreault
