Who are the best/most sophisticated British actors?

I need best British actors that don't just play in push over comedies, smarmy love stories or anything of the sort.

My personal favorites:

Michael Gambon - my favorite Brit. Everything from Layer Cake and The Omen to Amazing Grace and The Good Shepherd - he always brings life to his characters.

Ian McKellen - been in some stellar recent movies, such as the LOTR trilogy

Ben Kingsley - come on, he was Gandhi for cryin' out loud! (not to mention Schindler's List!)
