  1. 1. sachin and sourav

    2 gilly and hayden

    3. jaisurya and kaluwitrana.

  2. India- Souav & Sachin was the best pair. sources: see the record

Aus- Hayden & Gilchrist (they always provided the swash buckling start to the inning s for their team & by the time opponents get them they'd have already boosted the run rate with their attacking shots)

South Africa- AB Devilliers & Greme Smith have done great job recently but I will choose their past openers- Gibbs & Kirsten, perfect combination of attack(Gibbbs) & Defence (Kirsten)

England- I think Thorpe &Vaughan were the best opening pair back in 2001 (remember India's tour of England in 2002)

Sri Lanka- Jayasuriya (attack) & Attapatu (defence) combination

Pakistan- I thnk the opening pair of Saeed Anwar & Aamir Sohail back in the 90s was the best for them

New Zealand- Stephen Fleming & Mark Richardson (They formed a good pair to give a slow but big start to the inns) but Richardson was a test opener so for ODIs I'll pck Lou Vincent with Fleming.

Windies-  from the recent ones I can recall Gayle & Wevell Hinds was good, I can't recall the pair they had then back in Clyve Loyd's captaincy.

  3. for pakistan salman butt and kamran akmal

    for australia gilly and hydan

    for S.A smith and gibbs

    for england cook and staruss

  4. Sachin  -  Ganguly

    Sewhag   -  Gambhir

  5. Currently the best ODI opening pair would have to be ...

    Sehwag and Gambhir !

  6. I'll go with CJ Randhawa, except for the following:

India: Sunil Gavaskar and Chetan Chauhan

West Indies: Gordon Greenidge and Desmond Haynes.
