Hi Yahoo Answer members! I am working on a project and I just wanted to pick some brains. I am wondering who are the most common season ticket holders, specifically in women's college basketball. I am thinking places like hospitals and pre-college school staff members are the best places to promote season tickets too but who else do you think are common season ticket holders and season ticket buyers?

Thank You

  1. Dirty old men. To see them girls run up and down the court in them s**y little outfits,  that's why they watch it.  Don't mean to offend you, but it's true. You see a lot of old guys at the women's games.

  2. 1. Maybe a community recreation group which has a lot of basketball leagues, in particular girls basketball.

    2. Summer camps for girls, in particular basketball camps for girls.

Your ability to find season ticket buyers is also dependent on the overall reputation of the school's women's basketball program and conference.  If you're in a league like the Big East or the ACC, you'll find more interest than if you were in the Sun Belt or the Missouri Valley.

If the college you're representing is Connecticut or Tennessee, you'll get tons of interest given that women's basketball there not only has a better reputation there than the men's hoops program, but women's ball is more popular than men's ball there too in general, even though the UConn men have won two national titles in the last 10 years and the Tennessee men have recently won the SEC last year and will be in the running for a Final Four at least for some time to come.

If you're at a school with a great reputation, but at a place where men's basketball is more popular or has a better rep than women's ball, you will have to see which other top rated teams are coming to play at home, like if UConn, Tennessee, LSU, Rutgers, are coming.  That sparks interest in and of itself along with your school's reputation.  Most colleges in a major basketball conference will be in this position.  Division I schools with great women's basketball programs, BUT where men's basketball is CLEARLY more popular include Duke, North Carolina, Maryland, Stanford, Texas, and OU.

If your team is in the doldrums of a mid-major or low level conference, and no reputable teams are coming to your arena, it will be hard to find interest, especially if there's men's college ball, and perhaps the NBA and NHL if you're near a city with pro teams.
