We are working on an antithesis on Plato's abolition of the family. I need at least three philosophers that can contradict him. And also where I can find their works regarding the abolition of the family. Please help!

  1. confucius or any one of his school of thought.

(the only literature attributed to Confucius directly is the "analects" of Confucius . . .  perhaps start there)

Issac asimov (yep . . .  that Isaac Asimov) in his discussion of the old testament "Isaac Asimov's Guide to the Bible: the Old Testament",

    Avon Press c.1969

    "Leviathan" , Thomas Hobbes.

None of these take a stand pr ce against Socrates, but they all put forward a philosophical view of families that IS the antithesis found in Plato's Republic.

  2. Aristotle for a friggin start.
