  1. They are the children of Israel and the "stranger" or gentile who takes hold of the covenant (Isaiah 56:6) with YHVH.

The twelve tribes of Israel with of course Judah, the Jewish people, included:

Deu 7:6  "For you are a holy people to the LORD your God; the LORD your God has chosen you to be a people for His own possession out of all the peoples who are on the face of the earth.

Deu 7:7  "The LORD did not set His love on you nor choose you because you were more in number than any of the peoples, for you were the fewest of all peoples,

Deu 7:8  but because the LORD loved you and kept the oath which He swore to your forefathers, the LORD brought you out by a mighty hand, and redeemed you from the house of slavery, from the hand of Pharaoh king of Egypt.

And the stranger or gentile,"others", who fears and loves YHVH with Israel, see Isaiah 56:8:

    Isa 56:6  Also the sons of the stranger, that join themselves to the LORD, to serve him, and to love the name of the LORD, to be his servants, every one that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and taketh hold of my covenant;

Isa 56:7  Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people.

Isa 56:8  The Lord GOD which gathereth the outcasts of Israel saith, Yet will I gather others to him, beside those that are gathered unto him.

Yes, there is continuity in the 2 testaments:

Deu 14:2  "For you are a holy people to the LORD your God; and the LORD has chosen you to be a people for His own possession out of all the peoples who are on the face of the earth.

    1 Pet 2:9  But you are A CHOSEN RACE, A royal PRIESTHOOD, A HOLY NATION, A PEOPLE FOR God's OWN POSSESSION, that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him who has called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;

The apostle Paul actually identifies the "gentiles" as the dispersed Northern Kingdom, the House of Israel, as prophesied through Hosea:

Rom 9:24  even us, whom He also called, not from among Jews only, but also from among Gentiles.

Rom 9:25  As He says also in Hosea, "I WILL CALL THOSE WHO WERE NOT MY PEOPLE, 'MY PEOPLE,' AND HER WHO WAS NOT BELOVED, 'BELOVED.'"

YHVH will put an end, no longer have compassion on the House of Israel see Hosea 1:4 & 6 below. They have become just as the nations or gentiles, "not My people".

Hosea 1:4  And the LORD said to him, "Name him Jezreel; for yet a little while, and I will punish the house of Jehu for the bloodshed of Jezreel, and I will put an end to the kingdom of the house of Israel.

Hosea 1:5  "And it will come about on that day, that I will break the bow of Israel in the valley of Jezreel."

Hosea 1:6  Then she conceived again and gave birth to a daughter. And the LORD said to him, "Name her Lo-ruhamah, for I will no longer have compassion on the house of Israel, that I should ever forgive them.

Hosea 1:7  "But I will have compassion on the house of Judah and deliver them by the LORD their God, and will not deliver them by bow, sword, battle, horses, or horsemen."

Hosea 1:8  When she had weaned Lo-ruhamah, she conceived and gave birth to a son.

Hosea 1:9  And the LORD said, "Name him Lo-ammi, for you are not My people and I am not your God."

Hosea 1:10  Yet the number of the sons of Israel Will be like the sand of the sea, Which cannot be measured or numbered; And it will come about that, in the place Where it is said to them, "You are not My people," It will be said to them, "You are the sons of the living God."

  2. OT: The Jews of Abraham and Moses.

NT: Still the Jews until they rejected Jesus' message.  Then Jesus told the disciples to spread the Good Word to everyone.  We are ALL the chosen people now, if we choose Jesus.

  3. jews

  4. The Born Again Believers in The Lord Jesus Christ/The Messiah!  <')))><

  5. The Jewish people were the chosen people.  The believers of Jesus were grafted into the righteous branch. The "chosen" are people who believe in Jesus.

  6. Two things confuse the issue for people. Most people think the Jews are God's chosen people. The Jews are the nation of "Judah", which is one of the nations of "the whole house of Israel". Jacob, whose name was changed to Israel, had 12 sons. While all 12 sons have become great nations, and all 12 nations are "the whole house of Israel", for the purposes of prophecy, only 2 of those nations have his name of Israel today. Ephraim and Manasseh. England and the U.S..Jacob adopted his 2 grandsons and gave them his name of Israel.

Gen 48:16  The Angel which redeemed me from all evil, bless the lads; and LET MY NAME BE NAMED ON THEM, and the name of my fathers Abraham and Isaac; and let them grow into a multitude in the midst of the earth.

  7. The Jews, did you miss that?

  8. The Judaic people.

  9. MEXICANS!

  10. The Jews

They have always been and will always be God's chosen people

    There are no disputes

    There are no themes

It is just a fact that the Jews are God's chosen people

  11. The Jewish Nation in the Old Testament (and forever)

The Church in the New Testament (we were grafted in when they failed)

  12. Israel is the chosen people of God in the Old Testament.  They were given the Abrahamic Covenant.

In the New Testament, Israel was given its Messiah, and all people who believe on Him for their Salvation will inherit eternal life.  All who recieve him are the new "chosen people" because Jesus Christ dies for all humankind.

    There is continuity.

There are areas of dispute, namely that Israel rejected Jesus Christ as their Messiah.

  13. Everything in disputed in the Bible.

But the chosen people will always be the same... all of us. We are all made in the image and likeness of God.

  14. thats a easy one its the jews

  15. They are, were, and always will be referring to Hebrews. Christians want to believe that by following Jesus they some how reach that status, but that argument will not hold water since Jesus was a Jew and had no plan to do anything but reform Judaism.
