and many answerers who agree with the questioner I would like to ask: who are the terrorists? Who are the "bad guys"?

I also would like to receive answers from the people who agree with the questioner. What's the difference if between fighting the jihad and/or invading a country for commerical reasons? And Americans really are wondering about terror acts?

I was in the US 2 years ago and I saw the ten commitments sitting in many gardens. "You shall not kill", remember? Is a good Christian waiving this for oil?

I know that generalizing is wrong. Sorry, but this question just made me mad and showed again how biased Americans can be. And many of them even show it so openly!

Thanks and regards to the answerers who did not agree with this questioner.

Salam

  1. Dear Sister H....

I'm a saudi from jeddah and i wanted to first of all thank you, the people of UAE are, as they have always been and will always be, our good honest brothers and sisters....i understand how you must've felt when you first read that question...and i know how passionate you are about the subject cause it shows very clearly in the structure and tone of yours....the saudi people as well as most if not all the arabian gulf has been on an emotional rollercoaster for so long now that feelings of rage, anger, grief, pain, shock, disappointment, always on the defense, protective of our own...etc has become a norm...a part of our personalities and who we are and what we do instinctively....

the question about was on saudi in itself is pathetic in itself...too minute and insignificant as it was presented..plain and unsupported or explained....it wasn't posted with the intent to create a logical beneficial debate that touches and discusses vital aspects of all situations and factors effecting the world....it simply was put to "poke" us...create a stir....observe our reactions and responses and laughing at our expense....as sick and pathetic as it is...it was a fun game created for cheap laughs...not more...

dear sister, i know we arabs are hot blooded and when it comes to our people, countries, morals and faith...we fight with our teeth, claws and lives...the blood boils in our veins and we can't see straight ahead...we defend and we protest and we object and condemn and and and....but if we're going to give every attempt more than its worth...we might have to quit our jobs and pause our lives to accommodate each and every single one of them...and nothing will please those who hate us more than us stopping...the rate of our advancement and development shouldn't stop...slow down...or even remain as it is...we should focus on ourselves for the coming period...we've already been attacked using the filthiest method ever...our own flesh and our own minds are destroying us from within now...trust me, the american people are ignorant (of course we don't hate all of them and we know there are good, decent, educated and intelligent god fearing americans that we befriend and love) read more books and watch more documentaries made by americans about thier society, politics and mind set...talk to them and mingle in their day to day lives and concerns...they can't see or worry about anything further than their own door steps... they don't even know what's good for them anymore and i'm not even referring to their foreign policy or status or relation with the world...don't forget that....they don't all share the same faith, even christians in america don't share the same beliefs...i've been there and i've talked and asked and discussed this in particular.....and just because a person says he's Christian, doesn't make him a practicing or a good christian...just like when one of us says he's muslim but his way of life and actions has nothing to do with islam...faith shouldn't be blamed for any actions...Judaism, Christianity and islam are all the same...the call for the same virtues and prohibit the same sins...we of all people should know that...

don't forget that they are people just like the rest of us...they have the good, the bad, the beautiful, the ugly, the smart, the brain washed, the mislead and the very very very stupid! Consider this one one of those...

there's good and bad everywhere...that's what our islamic faith teaches us...if at times we can't manage to see the good..even if we tried hard...it gets to us...frustrates us...puts us down...but if we took a second to calm down and listen to our souls...it'll tell us...it's there, you might not see it but you will eventually...don't lose faith.

sister, i feel for you...and us saudis in particular have been going through all this on a daily basis since 9/11...it's not easy...it hurts...its outrageous....but we've trained ourselves to live with it...look beyond it...and managed to find sympathy to those who attack us...i'm sure you'll be attacked for your question...read it all....read it twice even...but take your time contemplating and reflecting on them...god bless you, the uae, saudi arabia and the entire world.

  2. This is coming from an American College Student..

People who ask those type of intolerant questions are uneducated and should not be looked at as the majority.

The way I see it is our media is as biased as your media.  The Middle East have terrorist and so does the United States (ahem..KKK and the Christian Extremist).  There are good guys and there are bad guys.  So to debate whether or not who's brainwashed and who's not is senseless. We know what we are taught.  Neither side has set a very good example for their citizens and all parties involved share responsibility in what is happening. Both sides have been very hypocritical. Not to mention, how dare anyone use their faith as an excuse..that's for Christians and Muslims alike.

I'm a first generation American, which I'm proud of but I would also like to think that I understand both the American POV as well as the Foreign POV to some extent. I also went to Middle School near the crash site of Flight 93 in Pennsylvania on 9/11. It was shocking and yes, we were mislead but I don't think we went to war for Oil. I think we were seeking retribution for our Ego.

With that said, the Youth here in the States are, for the majority, against this war in Iraq. I'm sad about the current affairs both domestic and internationally.  But we are thinking, and when Fall of 2008 comes, there will hopefully be a lot of change when the old Administration leaves.

  3. THE BIGGEST TERRORISTS ARE G.B AND D.C AND THEIR ILK. THEY ARE ALL IN WASHINGTON.

  4. You don't blame them....it is common knowledge that most Americans live in a "bubble"and have no idea as to what is actually going on around the world.

They have been brainwashed by the media to such an extent that they cannot think for themselves anymore.

If you check my answer to the other post, you will see who the real terrorist is ...uncle sam.

  5. Let us just pick a very short period, note the terrorist attacks that were carried out against Americans in that period, and conclude who the terrorists are.

May 9, 2001, Tekoa, Israel.  Kobi Mandell, 14, an American-Israeli, was found stoned to death along with a friend in a cave near the Jewish settlement of Tekoa. Two organizations, the Islamic Jihad and Hisb'Allah, claimed responsibility for the attack.

May 29, 2001, Gush Etzion, Israel.  The Fatah Tanzim claimed responsibility for a drive-by shooting of six in the West Bank that killed two American-Israeli citizens, Samuel Berg, and his mother, Sarah Blaustein.

August 9, 2001, Jerusalem, Israel. A suicide bombing at Sbarro's, a pizzeria situated in one of the busiest areas of downtown Jerusalem, killed 15 people, including a 31-year-old tourist from New Jersey, Shoshana Greenbaum and wounded more than 90. Hamas claimed responsibility for the attack.

September 11, 2001, New York, Washington D.C., and Pennsylvania, United States. During a carefully coordinated attack, 19 Islamist extremists hijacked four U.S. jetliners and forced them to crash into the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. In all, 266 people perished in the four planes, and more than 3,000 people were killed on the ground. U.S. investigators determined on the basis of extensive evidence that Usama bin Ladin's al-Qaida group was responsible for the attack. The first plane, American Airlines Flight 11 en route from Boston to Los Angeles, crashed into the World Trade Center's north tower at 8:48 a.m. Eighteen minutes later, United Airlines Flight 175, also headed from Boston to Los Angeles, smashed into the World Trade Center's south tower. At 9:40 a.m. a third airplane, an American Airlines Boeing 757 that left Washington's Dulles International Airport for Los Angeles, crashed into the western part of the Pentagon where 24,000 people worked. The fourth plane, a United Airlines Flight 93 flying from Newark to San Francisco, crashed near Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, most likely before it could hit its target. Hundreds of firefighters, police officers and other rescue workers who arrived in the site after the first plane crash were killed or injured.

All perpetrated by Arab Muslim terrorists.

    .

  6. Bush is no 1 terrorist.

  7. “While we must remain determined to defeat terrorism, it isn't only terrorism we are fighting. It's the beliefs that motivate terrorists. A new ideology of hatred and intolerance has arisen to challenge America and liberal democracy”

  8. ......terrorists are group of people who organized violence against government......to make it clear, people with guns, rifles that goes into hiding (meaning not seen in public) to prepare an attack or to prepare a master plan for attack are considered terrorists.......We should not generalize because terrorists are only few compared to thte total population, right? Oil price increase is the issue, its not related to terrorism or who are the terrorists. The issue is overpricing of oil per barrel and controlling world market. I know Saudi Arabia can do that because it is their oil but they are already a member of World Trade Organization that abides to honesty, welfare of customers, fairness and decisions of majority overrules and not to be decided alone......if you control oil price, all countries are affected and will burst rebellion.....its a big manipulation which is bad.....There is no reason to increase the oil because its not lacking.....the only justified reason for price increase is that oil is less already......you know what comes to my mind, GREED!

    ......my two cents only

  9. depend who you ask

if you ask american/israeli, they will say muslim are terrorist

if you ask muslim/arab, they will say american/israeli are terrorist

many muslim believe what alqaeda do is not islamic and admit it as a terrorist act

the funny think is when we ask back to america and israel about what they do in iraq and palestine they called it as a "self defence"

that is the biggest joke i have ever heard for the entire of my life

  10. What's your point H? Are you implying Americans are terrorist? How can you take that question seriously or think that the majority of Americans would want to go to war with Saudi Arabia over oil? FYI, how much money to do think is being spent in IRAQ? American money from tax payers. Are Americans benefiting from IRAQI oil?  Reading the question about invading Saudi Arabia, do you think it's possible with the issues Americans are involved with now, they would have the manpower and money to invade Saudi Arabia? What the h**l does the question asked have to do with being a Christian? Did you poll the answers to know that they are Americans and Christians? Yes, generalizing is wrong, and many people on the Saudi Forum and even you have generalized countless times so what does that make you? Americans bias, based on that stupid question? That just shows how BIAS YOU are. Stop wasting your time on YAHOO answers top answerer and read more on what's happening in the world, or if you have kids, try spending more time with them instead and your family.

    Salam

  12. No comparison.

killing people is not like posting a question on Yahoo. no matter how bad the question is.

Another difference, if we take the question seriously:-

war is brave, terrorism is coward.

  13. Dear sister,

Thanks for your impressive response to a silly question,

    let me add

    - who is raising up the oil prices? the industrial countries and the extra demand on the world .. plus the speculation in the oil markets

    - who is destabilizing the oil prices? wars and instability in the world lead by US. Invading Iraq and threatening Iran.

    - Who is stabilizing the oil prices? Few countries who got the wealth of oil lead by Saudi Arabia. Saudi used to produce 8 million barrels per day. It reached now 10 millions and planning to reach 12 millions (that is 50% increase in the biggest producer of oil).

    - And now in few days, Saudi is hosting OPEC and other countries to discuss the oil crisis in Jeddah, in what is described to be a historical meeting. It will be on presidents levels.
