Who are the villains of price rises?

We hear a lot about "World Economic forces" in the media to justify huge increases in water, oil, gas and food prices.

I may be a simple soul but what has happened to these God given necessities, that all leave the ground in their raw state free, and reach the consumer at prices so high that causes hunger, death, malnutrition, war and poverty.

Is it just greed? The lust to turn aquire money regardless of the human cost?

These commodities are fundemental to life on earth and yet Governments and organisations believe they have a right to take our money, to sell us what is a product of Gods abundance, the title to all these natural phenomena is surely Gods alone.

What next? Oxygen?

  1. Bush and Cheney.

  2. WHERE IS PRICE RICE ?????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. buddy you hit it on the nail. the last 4 president's did this this to us and there is got to be a way to rebel against these rich people. we should have a say in the laws that we are suppose to abide. i have a strong feeling there are secret organizations that are planing to do something drastic about it so the rich people will see that everyone has red blood and will die sooner or later. they should have a amendment that reads that when a person of a certain wealth should have to return a % of his wealth to the  and that is that ! why should the brother's & sons of these rdisasters Rich people are allowed to continue to get richer the Lord says give on to your brother as you would want him to give to you. and believe it or not there are at least 1/3 of the million & billionaires stay secluded all there lives. because they are afraid of the people that might kill them out of jealousy and fear that someone might take there grandson for ransom. It gets me sick! when i see all the people living in tents under the interstate and using the Fountain we tax payers payed for as a toilet! and don't tell me that the rich people didn't have a answer for this problem. If Jerry lewis can do a MD telethon and make millions why cant all the star's do there part, after we did pay $7.00 to go see their movie! there is something wrong with this picture and i would love to see some of these rich people go through a flood like we did in New Orleans. I couldn't even see my house for 6 week after the storm. and that's because we were the last ones to get any kind of pumps in our district. I had shoulder high nasty water sitting in my house for 5 weeks! when we got in with a mall hammer and a crow bar we couldn't believe it everything was broken in to peaces. we had to put on mold suits & gloves to try and find some of out valueables and if anything  that could soak up water was no good . so all we could get was the metal things. we lost a towncar a 25 foot boat 2 Harley Road Kings and the house.that the city made us gut and board up by a certain date or we would get a find. after a year went by we decided to sell it as is and it went to the first vietnamese family that looked at it and they got a great deal ! So if another katrnia comes up the river it will be the same thing all over again, and that's only a category 2, the Jeffersons have stole all the money that was suppose to go to help fix the levee's as well. shame on those people and if they don't go to jail and have all there assets convascated, they better leave New Orleans!

I mean Louisiana and then they better keep looking over their shoulder's! I think that is enough...............

  4. It's the lust of getting richer and richer by petroleum manufacturing companies.

Being the largest source of energy and transportation, any increase in petroleum products leads to inflated transportation cost of all commodities.  This in turn causes a chain reaction and prices shoot up like anything...

  5. I'd blame the middlemen.  For example, farmers don't get much for their produce, but add on some for the co-op, the wholesaler, delivery, supermarket etc.  -  by the time all these people are paid, the product has a high price tag.

I'm going to try growing some of my own.

  6. OPEC, farmers, and the "natural gas price linked to oil price" travesty.

The government don't care as they get richer by the second what with the duty on fuel and VAT on gas.

And why farmers? They'd sooner grow oil-seed crops for bio-fuels rather than wheat for bread etc.

  7. I can only guess it's power, and that some people are prepared to invest money in refining/cleaning a product for public use. Oxygen would probably never be 'sold' because it can be extracted directly by a complete amature!

If I were in charge of the world, I would..."add as appropriate".

  8. Much of the problem is International Commodity Speculators.

If a sufficiently large number of traders take forward positions on commodities, their speculation becomes a self-fulfilling prophesy - prices increase.

Add to this the US government's bio-fuel production that is economically, morally and ecologically indefensible. Each gallon of bio fuel requires approximately 2 gallons of oil for its production but it is a useful way of paying tax revenue to associates of the administration.
