Who are these Yahoo trolls and why are we supposed to be boycotting?

But who are they? Why do they call them trolls? I typed 'in voting' into search and the question came up something about reporting questions. I had a VERY innocent question in computers come up as soliciting, is this what they are talking about? You guys are great! Thanks for the info.

I think there is a boycott called for by some children who actually think that if tens of thousand of them do not respond for a day it will actually be noticed.  Then again it might in that there would be actual q&a's instead of "am I knock down dead gorgeous"!

Wouldn't a boycott, in this instance, be a positive thing?

Wouldn't it be great to stop seeing:

"Am I fat?"

"What about the Twilight books?"

"Which Jonas brother would think I'm hot?"
