Who are those 2500 scientist on the IPCC commission?

It is interesting how every skeptic is proclaimed to be a nut case and not even a "real scientist". Even those scientist who were lead authors of the IPCC reports and very qualified in their field are often portrayed as ignorant buffoons.

What we never hear about are the 2500 scientist who make up the IPCC field of scientist. Sure we know about the dozen or so who were part of the reports and have come out publicly denouncing the man made global warming theory. What about the others? Are they all leading scientist in fields like climotology or meteorology? Hardly.

The IPCC is not entirely made up of climatologists etc because finding out whether GW is happening or not is not their only purpose.  They also study the reasons it is happening, what the effects will be, what we can do about it, and how we can do it.  There needs to be a full spectrum of backgrounds/experience to do this.

Think about it like a business.  A business is not going to survive with only a marketing department, or only a sales department.  It needs everyone.  Corporate, financial, legal aid, marketing, sales, IT, the mailroom, research, HR, etc.

They're scientist and politicians appointed by the different gvmts to negotiate the best deal for these countries using global warming as an excuse.

The IPCC WG1 AR4 report itself was written by a team of around 350 scientists (all of whom are climate scientists or do work relevant to the field). The 2500 you speak of are actually the "expert reviewers;" essentially, anyone who asked to see a draft of the report, or gave commentary during the writing process. Many of them do no work in fields related to climate science.

Of course, you could have found this out quite easily by (gasp!) actually looking at the report. All the authors' names are listed, as well as their credentials, along with the expert reviewers.

All this is aside from the fact that the reports are comprised of research from thousands of scientists, and draw information from tens of thousands of peer reviewed papers.

Oh, and not *every* GW skeptic is proclaimed a nutcase. Just the crazy ones like Tim Ball and company. There are several very respectable scientists who are skeptical of different aspects of AGW theory. Although no serious scientist I am aware of denies the theory outright.

The IPCC wanted a predetermined report - but apparently not all the "scientists" complied:  judging from some of the comments they left.

It's not 2,500 scientists, it's 350 scientists.

Yet here is 400 scientists that say Global Warming is largely a Natural Process and not principally man-made.

the 2500 scientist thing is a lie drummed up by the global socialist elitists. there are at most 300-400 scientists, and the debate is certainly not over.

Don't trust ANYONE who says "the science is settled". They have a stake in the global warming hoax.
