My question kinda sounds confusing, I know.

But I want to know who are we related to the most then to the least, like who we share more blood with.

Would it be :

siblings, parents, grandparents, cousins, aunts / uncles [just an example, so you get what i'm saying]

or something other than that ?

  1. I think siblings, cause you have same blood from both parents.

  2. Legally, it would be parents first then siblings.  Genealogy wise, you and full siblings share exactly the same ancestry. You share 1/2 of each parent, then 1/4th of each grandparent.  Aunts/uncles would be close genetically to each of your parents, then cousins. But they would not be the same as parents, since you come directly from the parents.

After a while, of course.. genealogists simply give up and get charts or computer programs to figure it all out.

  3. Read the book, "Trace Your Roots with DNA" by Megan Smolenyak Smolenyak and Ann Turner.

In short, your parents, children and siblings each share 50% of your DNA; grandchildren, grandparents and 1st cousins each share 25% as well as aunts and uncles.
