Who are you more impressed with Michael Phelps or Usain Bolt?

both are are/or going to be legends in their sport who are you most iimpressed by on the track or in the pool not how they celebrated

Michael Phelps. He is so humble and modest. Usain needs to lose some of that attitude. And before someone says I'm only saying this because Usain isn't American 1.) I was born in Russia 2.) I can name you tons of American athletes I won't cheer for because of the same reason. I despise arrogance. But both of these guys are amazing. I just wish Usain could handle himself a bit differently.

both are equally dominating.

they blow away their peers.  however that close race where phelps won by .001 tarnished his dominance just a small tad.

Usain Bolt gets my vote - his record-breaking win was a surprise, a real "bolt out of the blue."

While Phelps is an exceptional athlete, it was all a bit too predictable that he'd do so well and smash so many records - it was the same with Ian Thorpe's brilliant dominance of the pool in Athens, it all got a bit like, "dum de dum - here we go again..."

I crave a bit more competition. I enjoy the far more thrilling, "edge-of-the-seat" stuff where unknowns suddenly become household names - and Usain Bolt gave me that last night.

I'm happier for Usain because I'm Jamaican and he's so just so effin' good. But I'm more impressed with Phelps because well...Usain is Jamaican, and by nature, we're just fast!

Definitely Usain Bolt, because he broke a record by Michael Johnson in 1996, that many thought would never be broken.

Phelps is a great champion also, but I am more impressed by Bolt because he makes it look so easy and leaves you speechless because you have lost your voice from cheering.

For me, Usain Bolt.  Michael Phelps is impressive, but it is easier to win tons of gold medals in swimming than in track and field.  For instance, there is the breaststroke, backstroke, freestyle all with similar distances.  If the same was applied to track and field and we had a 100m skipping contest, im sure Usain Bolt would win that too.  Not to take anything away from Phelps, but Usain Bolt made 100m and 200m world class sprinters look like schoolchildren.
