    8. Robert Kubica

    9. Christian Klien

    10. Sebastian Vettel

note: not the best drivers but drivers I've always liked, and i'm not an F1 historian I've only watched F1 since 01 or 02

  2. Dale Sr  Bobby Allison, Cale Yarbrough Neil Bonnett,, Dale Jr, Rusty Wallace Tony Stewart, Davey Allison, Mark Martin, David Pierson

  3. Michael Schumacher

    Alain Prost

    Ayrton Senna

    Emerson Fittipaldi

    Jackie Stewart

    Juan Manuel Fangio

  4. Senna

    Schumacher

    Prost

    Alonso

    Mansell

    Piquet

    Hakkinen

    Rosberg (Keke)

    That's about it.

No driver of the "distant" past I haven't seen race included, there's no point in mentioning Clark, Fangio etc

  5. jacques villeneuve

    michael schumacher

    rubbens barrichello

    lewis hamilton

    david coulthard

    mikka hakkinen

    kimi raikkonen

    eddie ervine

    robert kubica

    fernando alonso

  6. 1.  Nigel Mansell: The finest attacking driver of his generation and the only man that could scare the living daylights out of Senna and keep him honest.

    2.  Aryton Senna:  A flawed genius, often resulted to underhanded tactics to win, but a complete gentleman when out of the car, found with an Austrian flag in his car on 1st May 1994.

    3.  Damon Hill:  A fine talent who was badly treated by Williams in 1996, should have been champ in 1994 as well.

    4.  Sir Stirling Moss:  The greatest Driver to have never won the F1 world title

    5.  Jim Clark:  The greatest of them all???

    away from F1

    6.  Colin Mcrae:  The greatest Rally driver to have ever lived, pulled back a 1 min deficit in two stages in rally Australia 1998, was utterly stunning on any stage on any rally in the world, sadly missed.

    7.  Andy Rouse: 4 time BTCC champion, even in his 50's he was beating guys half his age

    8.  Mark Skaife: The most succesful aussie touring car driver ever.

    9.  Richard Burns:  The first ENGLISHMAN to win the WRC, not as exciting to watch as Mcrae but blisteringly quick on his day, missed by rally fans the world over.

    10.  Andy Priaulx:  The best touring car driver ever??

  7. My list will not be "right" as I like my best drivers to be hard workers and not just championship collectors, (only include drivers Ive watched)

    1. Senna, the man who's' driving style first aroused my F1 interest, flawed but mesmeric to watch.

    2. Damon Hill, not the quickest driver but I admired his perseverance, intelligence and passion for the sport.

    3. Heinz Harald Frenzen, a massively underrated driver who wasn't ready for Williams in 1997.

    4. Jean Alesi, a man who if he engaged his brain could out perform his car by some margin, if only he went to Williams and not Ferrari.

    5. Micheal Schumacer, extremely capable but did upset me at times when he thought that by taking another car out he would win.

    6. Martin Brundle, a man that made Senna work so hard for the 1983 British F3 title but never had a long enough stay at a good team to show his hand.

    7. Fernando Alonso, brilliant behind the Renault between 2003-06 and even the Minardi before, hope he gets another shot at the title.

    8. Mika Hakkinen, class driver, his occasional mindless drives he could erase by snatching pole positions by half seconds or more.

    9. Johnny Herbert, brilliant bloke, who suffered a nasty crash in a F3 race in 1988 which seemed to shadow his career for too long.

    10. Kimi Raikkonen or David Coulthard, I can't pick!

  8. Mika Hakkinen

    Senna

    Kimi Raikonen

    James Hunt

    Nigel Mansell

    Damon Hill

    Narain Karthikeyan

    DC

    Juan Pablo Montoya

    Ralf Firman

Do you know that is quite hard. I would have like to put Lewis, Fernando and Michael in there but I only have 10 choices and have to go with who I thought of first. I must say that I haven't ever really NOT like a driver.

Mika is my number one and the others are in no particular order.

Edit : Hey music fan, the question is who are YOUR top 10 drivers, not who is the best. I've put drivers I like the best for various reasons. I'm really not a glory supporter:) I was Ralf's biggest fan lol.

  9. 1. Michael Schumacher

    2.Alain Prost.

    3.Ayrton Senna

    4.Nelson Piquet snr.

    Kimi Raikkonen

    Mika Hakkinen

    Michael Schumacher

    Robert Kubica

Juan Pablo Montoya (even if he did some crazy driving at times)

    Ayrton Senna

    Mark Webber

    hold on...

Jos Verstappen (crazy driving at times but it sometimes works)

Jacques Villeneuve, even if he was very mouthy

    I can't decide the 10th

  11. I only have 1 that was Micheal Shumacher but now i support any ferrari driver.Very mad about hamilton takin out Kimi but thats life.

I can't put "anything for the win" drivers on my list.

Note to Music Fan:  Stewart didn't win the WDC three times in a row.  1969-71-73.  Three times, yes.  Not in a row.

  16. This is from my Dad, who has watched F1 since the 50's

    1) Fangio

    2) Senna

    3) M. Schumacher

    4) Clark

    5) Stewart

    6) Piquet (that's SENIOR, not Jr)

    7) Andretti

    8) Prost

    9) Gilles Villenueve

    10) Ascari

  17. Senna, Prost, Surtees, Lauda, Schumacher, Ickx, Caracciola,

    Nuvolari, Andretti, Piquet.

    Like Val no particular order.

  18. 1. M. Schumacher- You can't NOT include him, pure brilliance. his brother never really got in the right car.

    2. Kimi raikkonen- bin my personal fave since that year in Sauber, his first race he got 6th in a sauber. that was class!

    3. Prost- luved prost the onli frenchman to win a world championship.

    4. Hakkinen-someone had to fight off schumacher.

    5. Gilles villenuve (think thats spelt rite)- pure class, disasterous what happened. RIP

    6. Senna- pure brilliance, if u av ever seen this guy drive. WOW! true champion, once again. RIP

    7. Fangio- 5 world championships speaks for itself really.

    8. James Hunt- luv his alliance with raikkonen, daredevil!!

9.Damon hill- amazin, brittish and top gear stig.

    10. Piquet- luved nelson piquet, luv his son. sr. was amazin. jr. will become one of teh best drivers ever, if he gets in a good car.

  19. 1.Ayton Senna (rip)

    2.Jim Clark (rip)

    3.Micheal Schumacher

    4.Graham Hill

5.Mario Andretti (best US driver ever)

    6.Jackie Stewart

    7.Mika Hakkinen

    8.Damon Hill

    9.Emerson Fittipaldi

    10.Alian Prost / Nelson Piquet

  20. 1. Ayrton Senna - the greatest driver ever!!

    2. Jim Clark - from what I have seen, the most natural driver next to Senna.. both completely in tune with their cars

    3. Michael Schumacher - simply awesome... 7 world titles says a lot, could turn it on in a flash and destroy other drivers... ruthless at times, but then also very noble at others... I respect him more than admire him..

    4. Jackie Stewart - at the time the most successful driver after Fangio... it speaks volumes when in those days cars were very similar and you didn't have the powerhouses that guaranteed wins like the Big Three today...

    5. Alain Prost - so smooth and calculative behind the wheel, brilliantly quick too...

    6. Nelson Piquet - fun, outspoken, and a great driver... his move on Senna (although it took him 2 go's lol) in Hungary 86 was just fantastic...

    7. Nigel Mansell - one of the fastest drivers I have ever seen.... deserved more than his one title... just for his speed on the track (I don't care what they're like as a person...)

    8. Damon Hill - vastly underrated... him and Mika Hakkinen were the only two who could touch Schumi in the 90's... lost his cool in 95... but who wouldn't when you were battling Schumi at his best!?! great drives in the Arrows and Jordan showed everyone how good he is... and he stepped out of Senna's shadow to morally win the 94 title (not officially..but Michael cheated his way to the 94 crown... launch control all year... illegal fuel rig that nearly killed Verstappen... Adelaide...)... Great driver and my all-time hero... deserved more than his 96 title..

    9. Graham Hill - Same as Damon, had to compete with the greatest driver of his day in Jim Clark.. and was a real equal...

    10. Gilles Villeneuve - if his life wasn't cut short... he would've won several titles in the 80's... given a drivable car there was no-one faster..

  21. I cant believe Val put Narian Karthikayn, Ralf Firman, DC and Juan Pablo on her list wow that was funny  - I know this about oppinions but seriously you cant find four better drivers than that???

my list (first two in order)

    1) M.Schumacher - 7 world titles and transformed Italian motorsport - legend and as big as the pope in Italy

    2) A. Senna - Magician that was sadly short lived

    3) M. Hakkinen - classy driver with lots of fight and Schumis best rival

    4) A.Prost - The best driver to come out of France in the last 30 years and the next 30 years

    5) J. Stewart - From the town of Dumbuck to the top of the world three times in a row showed fight and drive and desire and passion for the cause, smart quick driver

    6) J.Fangio - 5 world titles in 7 seasons and came 2nd in the season he wasnt world champion - amazing achievement

    7) T. Nuvolari - Arguably the catalyist for Brazilian Motorsport??

    8) G.Hill - Who else has held the motorsport treble all at once??? - answer no-one a superlative driver

    9) J.Rindt - Had a good solid consistent season in his final year and was always scoring well before his tragic end

    10) J.Clark - Arguably the most textbook smooth and speed world champion driver F1 racing has ever seen to date

    06. Jackie Stewart

    07. Gilles Villeneuve
