  1. Naw, who knows, the world may end soon, but how the heck would the aztecs, or mayans know? Plus, I think the end of those calanders is really just meaning the end of an era, and has been misinterpeted by the general public as the end of the world.

I would be interested in seeing the opinion of someone who specializes in the study of those civilizations.

  2. i no exactly what ur talking about. u heard that the aztec calendar says that the world ends in four or five years rite? well im jewish and there have been so many different opinions of wen massiah is supposed to ***... but one of my teachers sed that he heard somewhere that massiah is supposed to *** in four or five years...so it might just be...scary ha?

  3. I think it's c**p.

  4. Its says the world cycle (precession cycle) will end, but it doesn't specify whether by destruction or just changes. Rumor has it that time as we know it will stop.

  5. Both the Mayan and Aztec calendars were based upon the "ages of man" or eras which lasted approximately 52 years each.  The calendars have been interpreted to end within about a year of each other between 2011 and 2012 - a date which coincides with some interpretations of the Chinese calendar in the I-Ching.

When these calendars end, some people believe that the world will end.  The Mayans actually believed that a global catastrophe would occur, but that man would survive to become a more spirtual being.  The Aztecs believed that men have been destroyed many times in the earths past, but this will be the final destruction of man.

Do I believe in these things?  I have great respect for the Mayan civilization and the Aztec accomplishments, but I do not personally believe that they were able to predict the future with such accuracy.  But, am I going to party in December of 2011 and 2012?  You bet your butt I will!

  6. You're talking about December 21, 2012. The end of the Mayan calendar. It's when the Earth will complete one wobble on it's axis and the Sun will be at the exact center of the galaxy. Happens every 26,000 years. Me and my friend have a running on bet on whether it will happen or not. It's cool to research, but it's really a story of how great civilizations rise, prosper, and fall. On that day our civilization will have supposedly reached it's peak and everything will fall into chaos.

  7. not sure i believe it maybe just more doomsday hype

  8. I don't know if I feel the world will "end"...maybe it will transition though.

  9. I think you are talking about the Mayan calendar?

Why would you pay any attention to the prognostications of a stone age people who could not even predict their own demise?
