There was an article in the Chicago Tribune Sports section about Johnny Weir that reads "The hate mail after the Olympics was about who I am. Some came from people that didn't like g*y people even though I have never said in an interview, 'I am g*y.' People make assumptions." I'm like come on, the only way he can be straight is when pigs actually fly. Yeah, whatever Johnny q***r. You're as g*y as they come. It's like Clay Aiken claiming he's not g*y. Yeah whatever.

  1. Does it really matter?  If he is, so what.  If he isn't, so what.  I personally don't claim to be a fan of his, but in the greater scheme of things, I don't care if he's g*y or not, as long as he represents our country appropriately and is a great skater.  If he did something to shame our country, yeah, I'd have a problem with him.  I guess if people are going to send hate mail, they have too much time on their hands....I wish I had their extra time!  :)  So he doesn't openly admit it or deny it, that's his right.  Big whoop.

  2. I'd personally prefer to hear him come out of the closet (I'm quite sure he's not straight), but it's his choice to do what he feels like. Rudy Galindo came out of the closet with no major problems and it's pretty well known John Curry was g*y as well.

I like Weir when he isn't doing bad routines, but sadly a lot of people misinterpret his way of being thinking all men in figure skating is affeminate which isn't true. Stereotypes are hard to beat.

  3. He's working hard to be the best skater he can be.  He chooses to keep personal things private, and he's entitled to his privacy.
