Question:

Who believes that abortion rights is a big issue in this campaign? ?

Why would anyone support someone who feels it is OK to kill a fetus, especially one that is born alive? What happened to moral responsibility, accountability, and "thou shalt not kill"? In my opinion, most abortions are a product of poor judgement and lack of basic s*x education. Shouldn't our citizens be advocates of adoption rather than murder?

  1. Your information is incorrect.  No one wants to kill a fetus born alive.  That is against the law currently.  The question is when does life begin?  The moment of conception?

  2. This is the unholy alliance.  Neo-cons, like McCain, agree to use their Supreme Court nominees to end Roe v. Wade.  In return, theo-cons agree to vote for the neo-cons and look the other way while the neo-cons spread "democracy" through military force.  So, yes, abortion rights are front and center in this election.

  3. When did this become a big issue? Aren't there more pressing things, such as the war in Iraq, healthcare, etc?

Without healthcare, women can't even get abortions to begin with, they just have "kitchen table" abortions with an egg beater.

Obama does not feel it is ok to kill a fetus. He has made his stances clear that he does not support abortion, but it is not within the government's power to decide that for the woman.

anyone who is pro-choice is not supporting abortions, they are just saying it is not the government's obligation to decide on abortion.

Just because abortions are legal doesn't mean you have to participate.

"Thou shalt not kill", as it is in biblical terms, has no bearing on the United States because it is not a part of the Constitution, it is part of the bible, and the bible is not law in the United States of America.

Our citizens should be advocates of freedom, not advocates of moral fascism.

What I mean by "thou shalt not kill" is not a US law, is that nowhere in the constitution does it say "thou shalt not kill". That is a commandment. The US laws are more specific, regarding criminals, etc. You can't just come out and start throwing around commandments and murder laws with regards to abortion. The debate is still out about whether or not abortion is murder, so any opinionated claims like "abortion is murder" shouldn't be used intellectually in a debate about abortion. The bible has a very liberal interpretation on what is murder too.

  4. If a child is going to have a S**t life, abortion may be the better option. I don't think you should judge what other people have the right to do. Its everyones personel decision, just concern yourself with yourself and don't intrude on other peoples issues. Everyone can decide for themeselves what is right and what is wrong. You seem to be a christian, so I don't understand why you are acting like you think you're God.

I am a catholic by the way. Just a very unbiased one.

  5. You can't have it both ways and advocate "Abstinence only s*x ed" in schools and criticize when that does not work.

But the pro-life movement has been strong for 30+ years and have not made abortion illegal in even one state.  It is a lost cause.  If you vote just on the abortion issue then you are wasting your vote.

  6. i believe in some of your comments, i also believe abortion should NOT be a political issue...there are far more pressing issues, + i am pro choice, with proper education...

  7. A majority of people support that, so yes, it'll be a big issue and it will work against McCain. If people who supported a woman's right to choose thought of it as "murder" they wouldn't be for it.

  8. i assume you have never personally faced that decision yourself.

    pull you're head in!

EDIT: Fair point, but what about rape?, what if someone is raped at 13 and fell pregnant to the b*****d? was i supposed to endure the pregnancy and give birth to a living breathing memory of my worst nightmare? was that Gods great idea?

And would anyone honestly adopt the child of a rapist?

  9. I am pro-life. No baby should have to pay for their parent's irresponsibility & immaturity.  I do believe that abortion rights are a HUGE factor, because it is a huge deal and a touchy subject to those who are pro-life. And as a person who is against abortions, I don't want a president who thinks that is alright. I want a president with morals!! I mean, I am not voting for McCain solely based on his stance of abortion, but I wouldn't feel good about voting for him is he was pro-choice either.

  10. The bigger issue is going to be the economy.

  11. Only loonies think that, We have more important issues to think about. What happens to  your "thou shalt not kill" when American wars kill millions of people around world.

  12. I agree with you 100% and you should get five stars for your question.  What many people don't realize was that they, too, were once embrionic cells and fetuses.  Sure, it's OK for them to advocate abortion because it doesn't affect them now, but if they had a choice at conception, how would they want their mothers to decide?  Seems to me that this issue is going to be big in this and future campaigns.

  13. In normal circumstances abortion rights would be a huge decision maker regarding voter turnout. However; with families still on the verge of being kick out of their homes due to foreclosures; families still divided by the war in Iraq and Afghanistan; families suffering from high unemployment; and families on the verge of their jobs being outsourced, I would strongly state that abortion rights have taken a back burner stance. This doesn't equate that it has no merits.
