Who besides me is sick of hearing people whine about Shawn Kemp's personal life?

Shawn Kemp was the best power forward in the league in the mid-1990's. Every thing he accomplished was based on his own will to succeed. What ruined it? Seattle's unwillingness to reward him in an appropriate fashion. They waited too long to give him a contract and gave JIM MCILVAINE! all the money he wanted! That's what ruined him, that and all those media reports about his personal life. That would cause any one of us to turn to drugs and alcohol.

Look, he improved his numbers every year he was in Seattle and went on to bigger numbers in Cleveland, right before the media storm hit him.

You can talk about the Denver series all you want, but who's really to blame? Just him or the team as a whole, including the coaching staff?

He consistently shot close to or above 50% from the field Getting his 20 and 10 every night, and all the time, HE AVERAGED 33 MINUTES OF PLAYING TIME A GAME. 33!

He held his own against Barkley, Malone, Rodman, and Webber and did better than them most nights too!

  2. First of all who cares about Shawn Kemp? Way old news. Second, only a moron would say that " that would cause any one of us to turn to drugs and alcohol". Nothing causes you to turn to anything, it's what YOU CHOOSE. Kemp had major talent, but ruined his career HIMSELF because of his addictions. He's lucky he didn't die on the court. His teammates used to ask for him to be taken out of the game at times cause they knew he was flying and were worried about him having a heart attack on the court. Boo Hoo for him, just another talented idiot who couldn't handle the pressure or money.
