  2. the builder was almost certainly Beyer Peacock of Manchester; the locos were 4-4-4 tank engines , I think the unusual 4 trailing wheels allowed a larger coal bunker than usual in the tank locoxs of the day. BP also built a couple at least of 0-6-4 tanks usually employed on shunting and goods duties
