Who buy Baptism clothing/accessory for our baby?

the godfather and godmother? they're cousins, not a couple. Also wahts parents responsibility to buy? what do we expect from godparents to do?

i don't know if there is a formal tradition, but I'm catholic and in my family and friends circle, the godmother buys the christening outfit (complete gown, blanket, hat, shoes, socks, bib etc) and the godfather buys the baby's jewelry (typically a cross on chain and/or bracelet).  That's what I did for my god daughter and I also bought her a david yurman birthstone bracelet as a gift.  Her parents bought me a gift (jewelry) and threw the party.

We always purchased our kids baptism cloths. And the god parents just got the baby a gift. I guess it depends on your family tradition. I don't know if there is a hard rule today.

WELL AS WHAT I KNOW THE GODPARENTS R SUPPOSE TO GET THE BABYS CLOTHING HIS CHAIN AND THE ACCESSORIES HE NEED IN CHURCH I JUST BAPTIZE MY NEPHEW AND THATS WHAT WE GOT FOR HIM AND I ALSO HAVE BAPTIZE MY NIECE NO WITH MY HUSBAND WITH A FRIEND AND WE JUST WENT HALF ON EVERYTHING WELL HOPEFULLY I GAVE U A LITTLE HELP GOOD LUCK

This might just be in the Catholic religion, but this is how it worked with my son's baptism. The godmother (my best friend) bought the outfit. We went shopping together and picked it out together. She paid. The Godfather (my husband's brother) bought him a gold cross to wear during the ceremony. I am my nephew's Godmother (they are Protestant), and they bought the outfit. They only asked me to show up the day of the baptism. It's something you should discuss with the Godparents.

Traditionally the godmother offers to buy the baby's baptism outfit.

I would say the godparents should share the responsibility. The parents are responsible for the reception after wards. As for the godparents responsibility, they should be there emotionally for he child and god forbid physically if anything were to ever happen to you and hubby. Good Luck!!

The god parents are just that there role is to help lead your child through a christian life. Its your job to buy the baptismal gown and other things you want for your baptism and reception!

Traditionally the Gop parents are the ones that buy the clothing and accessories. However, I have seen the parents of the little one purchase everything

Again, traditionally the God parents are responsible to help the parents raise the child and help guide him/her. If someday the parents die or no longer want the child it's the God parents who will raise and care for the child until he/she is an adult. In other words, the God parents become the new parents if the biological parents are absent from their lives.
