It just can't be really rich people because I'm just going to SAT to DTW and it cost about $300 - $450* and the 1st class is $1800 - $2000 for the same flight??? and it's like 4 hours long? And on a flight I've been on they sit like less that 1 feet from the rest of the cheaper ticket people. Hmmm, I wonder who these people are?

  1. They are either so rich that they don't care, or they are businesspeople and their company is paying the bill so they don't care.

It is kind of pointless on a short domestic flight, but if you are flying to Europe or Asia there is a big difference between first/business and coach - you have a lot more legroom, you get real food, and the seat goes back far enough so you can actually sleep.  I know a lot of people who aren't rich but who refuse to fly coach on long international flights and pay out of their own pocket for business class.  First class isn't worth it though, unless you have one of the two reasons above.

  2. First class are generally treated better. They get better meals, REAL silverware, free drinks, better seating, more room, and better service. I would assume mostly rich people, businessmen, and people who are on honeymoons or things like that are the people who buy first class tickets. I probably wouldn't buy one for a 4 hour flight, but I wish I could have sat in first class for every one of my 16 hour flights back and forth from denmark to the USA.

  3. Anymore? The first class fares are lower than they used to be! They used to have also a business class on US domestic flights.

  4. Why buy first class, upgrade when you get to the airport, best way to fly 1st class and a whole lot cheaper than buying it that way......

  5. Well not to be rude, but i always do. Person of my stature. But

usually promos pay for a private plane. I am touring again. Well what else can i do.

  6. Corportate travelers, wealthy people, frequent flyers who get upgraded. Those are the 3 main groups of people who travel first class.

Many companiers have polices that allow their employees to travel first class, as long as the flight is over a certain length.
