I want to open a recycling plant soon and need information on who buy's the recycled material from you. Do the local council also help, and with whom do i need to speak to to get the go ahead. The more information i get the better chance i have of opening the plant and relising my dream off running my own buisness.

  1. i want to buy it. can you sell it

  2. recyclers

  3. You don't specify what it is you are going to recycle. It makes a big difference in what materials you plan on working with.

  4. I work for SONOCO we make all kinds of different products from recycled paper. All of the newspapers, cereal boxes and cardboard boxes we recycle. Along with just about every kind of paper in the world. We put that paper into a big blender type machine and blend it down to liquid. We then run that liquid through all sorts of paper stretcing and drying devices therefore making paper out of recycled paper. We buy our cardboard and paper from recycling plants. Go to SONOCO.com and you will learn everything you need to know about my company.

  5. You really have to be specific as to the waste stream you are targetting and the materials involved.  Waste paper which is sorted into grades is sought by paper mills.  Crushed glass is sought by glass producers although there is a surplus of green glass in the UK which saturates the cullet market.  Scrap steel is highly sought by steel mills and aluminium by the aluminium producers as for glass, steel and aluminium they will use far less energy making new stuff from recycled waste than from virgin materials.  There are many types of recyclable material which either can go back to a primary manufacturing process or can be used again for another purpose.  See www.wrap.org.uk for some ideas.
