  1. The Yankees. Big time.

  2. The Mets and Phillies, since he didn't go to Florida.

  3. The losers in the trade were the Dodgers. The Red Sox got a great player who will put up similar numbers, is younger, and costs a whole lot less, so I consider them winners, but the biggest winners were the Pirates. They got some good young players. They had to lose Bay, but you gotta give to get.

  4. to answer your question the pirates got the best deal. a few people have said this but i have a different reason. boston had two give up manny and pay his contract to the dodgers which will hurt them short term and moss to the pirates which could hurt them long term. they picked up an all star in bay but honestly every team gets an automatic all star and he was that one for the pirates. bay will be an upgrade in fielding and speed but he will never have mannys bat and bay has never had to perform in september or october and could very well wind up failing under the big lights of boston. the dodgers lucked out with having to give up two minor leaguers but what did they get? they got a player that will only be in l.a. for two months. the dodgers already have way to many outfielders but none that can hit like manny. i think he will be fun to watch here in la but the trade is only good for two things which is win the n.l. west which a 2 game over .500 team is currently leading and the dodger fans getting off of ned colletti, the g.m. the trade is not going to let the dodgers beat anyother teams if they make it to the playoffs but luckily they lose nothing so it is an even deal in my mind. now for the pirates. the way i see it is they gave up an all star in jason bay but they got 4 players back and 2 of the 4 could wind up being something special. moss from the red sox has been a great minor leaguer for the last couple of years and andy laroche from the dodgers has been a solid minor leaguer also. as for laroche he is going to the team that his big brother is currently playing for and if that sibling rivalry does not light a fire under his butt to perform better than nothing will.

  5. The Dodgers because Now they can go at with The D-Backs.

  6. The Tampa Bay Rays and the New York Yankees.

They'll be able to pitch around Papi all season long now.

  7. The Pirates signed a slew of prospects, a couple of whom may be able to replace Bay, but will be shipped off when their contracts become too pricey, as will always be the M.O. in Pittsburgh.

The Dodgers get a legit slugger, but who's to say he can't disrupt this clubhouse as well? Additionally, outfield wasn't exactly a pressing need for Los Angeles(They now have 5 big contract talents to find ABs for).

I think the Sox got the best of the deal because they replace Manny's big bat with a criminally underrated stud in Jason Bay and are now freed from the burden MAn-Ram was to their team chemistry.

  8. Dodgers they now have  a good right hand hitter who brings in RBI's.

Yankees they no longer have to meet the Yankee Killer Manny

  9. hey everybody he said the manny trade!!!! i hate to say it but out of that 3-way deal i would say the pirates, but just between the dodgers and the bosox i would say LA because we needed a bat and we got one, and boston already has a bunch of bats

  10. Jason Bay, he went from the outhouse to the penthouse. he hit the freaking lottery and baseball can now be fun again for him

  11. Pirates and Boston. Pirates get 4 prospects and the red sox get jason bay.

  12. The Red Sox, now that all of the publicity is over, they can focus on doing what it is they do best, choking and losing games.

  13. Dogers they got manny for nothing boston cant replace manny even with overbay and the pirates cant replace overbay even though they have a closer its not lik their games are ever close that late. Doggers got many for second rate prospects and will probably win the west.

  14. The Yankees cause he wont be playing against them anymore. He was A Yankee KILLER

  15. Pirates.Acquiring infielder Andy LaRoche and righthanded pitcher Bryan Morris from the Los Angeles Dodgers, and outfielder Brandon Moss and reliever Craig Hansen from the Boston Red Sox.

That's a pretty good deal just for Jason Bay. It's a lot better than the Xavier Nady/ Damaso Marte trade they made with the Yankees.

  16. Dodgers because there team leader in home runs has only 12 Matt Kemp he's a really good player but manny is the best player on that team now and make the playoofs the pirates also got craig hanson he could be the closer he throws really hard.

  17. I believe the Pirates came out victorious because they're rebuilding their club and they need young players that are of major-league caliber.

As a Red Sox fan, I was deeply saddened by the loss of Manny, but honestly I think the Sox'll be better without his attitude.

Of course, it won't hurt getting one of the best sluggers in the game for the Dodgers
