  1. Herbert George Wells wrote a story called The Time Machine in which a man builds a machine with which he travels into the future and back.  Subsequent fiction writers have explored various aspects of time travel depicting contradictions.  Physically, traveling in time breaks the laws of relativity and therefore is not possible.

  2. The first geared mechanical clock was invented by the 11th-century Arab engineer Ibn Khalaf al-Muradi in Muslim Spain. I guess you might call that the first time machine.

  3. Herbert George Wells came up with the idea of atime machine. How? Easy. When he was in bed one night, he was thinking about machines. Then, he saw his bedroom clock, and for some reason, he combined time, and machines, and so, his idea was called, 'Time Machine.'

  4. H.G. Wells created the idea of a time machine, although he was not the first to explore the thought of time travel, per se. And as far as your question, what do you mean? you want to know if there is a time machine in real life? lol
