  1. The Rays have a winning record against them, so they can and have beat the Angels...

the Angels have no chance at being in the WS...

the only reason they have a good record is because they are in the weakest divison in the AL (the teams they play the most games against)

  2. The Angels are good, but they are far from unbeatable.

  3. maybe

  4. The Angels are very consistent. They have a great rotation, great bullpen, an outstading Closer, and a good lineup. They could easily make it to the World Series with Ervin Santana and Joe Saunders performing well and Jose Arredondo and K-Rod leading the Bullpen. I don't know why exactly, but for some reason, I don't see them winning it all...

  5. Yea man. When I saw this trade, I felt my heart sink because I knew how big this was, especially to a team like the Halos.

Barring injuries (knocking on my desk here) I think they are a lock to win the World Series. The Angels pre trade had 1 weakness. Lack of power. Mark Teixeira is a huge power bat and is probably THE BEST hitter in baseball in the second half. Now the Angels really have no weakness on their team. Best rotation in baseball, record breaking closer, and now a offense that can steal and hit the long ball? Plus you get Gold Glovers like Hunter and Tex? This makes them the team to beat, and the thing is, I don't see another MLB roster that can beat this squad.

  6. They are in the easiest division. During playoff games the season's numbers mean nothing. The hottest team at the end wins.

  7. Angels are good top to bottom and their entire pitching staff.  But, the Red Sox (as much as I hate 'em) have experience.  As a Rockies fan, I saw that post season experience first hand last year.

But if the Red Sox don't make the play offs (I don't think the Yankees and Rays will beat them out...but it could happen), then, the Angels are in the World Series for sure, and yes, I think they should be favored over any of the NL teams.

I think the NL teams to beat are Milwaukee, the Cubs, and.....the Dodgers if they get healthy and can stay that way. They seem to be jelling a little bit lately. A Cross town LA series I could see happening.

  8. Anyone can be beaten any given time, especially in this crazy season.  But the Angels clearly look like the favorite heading into this post season.

And it is so funny to read the posters who said they only have a winning record because of the division they play in.  Texas AND Oakland currently are above .500...better than Baltimore or Toronto...better than Detroit, Kansas City , or Cleveland for that matter.

Plus, the Angels are 17...yes 17 games above .500 against the east and central division. And currently are 7-1 against mighty Boston this year. And we all know the Angels have dominated the Yankees in recent years. So stop all this bs talk about weak division.  The Angels are beating everybody they play...go check their record against teams above .500...best in the majors.

Who knows what will happen in the playoffs...but give credit where credit is due...the Angels have the best record in baseball because they are playing the best baseball so far this year.
