Who can dominate the NFC West?
Philadelphia Eagles might be able to win the competitive National Football Conference (NFC) East division (it is just my prediction), but the competition in the NFC West is not that much severe and it is relatively easy to predict the winner here.
Let’s take a look at the teams here and see what they have got.
Arizona Cardinals
They managed to finish well towards the end of the last season, but they took a long time to settle their quarterback competition and throughout the offseason it was not clear who will start for them in the 2012 season.
Cardinals finished strongly last time, but their start was not commendable. If they manage to show consistency throughout the season they might have a strong chance of making it to the playoffs. However, they have to be consistent as well as lucky and hope
that their key players do not receive any serious injuries during the season.
St. Louis Rams
Coming off a miserable 2-14 season, it looks like even Rams are not expecting themselves to qualify for the playoffs this season. The main target for the new manager and coach is to build a franchise and increase the number of victories as compared to the
last season.
Rams have a tough road ahead. They have taken some bold steps this offseason to prepare their squad. They have retained quarterback Sam Bradford while they traded down their second overall draft pick of this year to add more players to the roster. These
moves must pay off for them.
Seattle Seahawks
Although they were unable to finish strongly in the 2011 season, they still have a strong chance of making it to the playoffs this time.
The offence is looking bright and although they were also involved in the quarterback competition throughout the offseason, the management and the players handled the battle with professional attitude that will certainly help them on the field.
Seahawks will certainly face some serious challenge in the division from the Cards and San Francisco 49ers, but they have got what it takes to beat these two teams.
San Francisco 49ers
The surprise of the 2011 season, the 49ers are once again looking very strong. They stunned everyone by qualifying for the playoffs last year and now they are hoping to shock the football community by winning the title.
On paper, they have a brilliant squad. They are strong on the defence and have made some good moves during the offseason to improve the strength of the offensive squad.
My prediction: 49ers are going to take the division crown again.
